if a business puts their shitty flyers in my car and it rains and sticks is it vandalism?
shit's happened twice now and it really pisses me off
>>14713295
If you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they put those flyers with explicit intention of vandalizing it... So I guess so.
>>14713295
Sue them for harassment and emotional distress.
>>14713295
Have you considered not being a faggot?
Hey panther body guys
What's the sound that these things make when you first accelerate? It's a distinctive whirring noise that you can hear on the inside. I've always wanted to know what the sound was.
>>14713218
1st gear is almost straight cut. 2-4 are much more helical. This results in the noise you're talking about. Most people think it's the rear diff, but it's coming from the transmission.

Thank you

How have you modified your current car?
The w124 with the 2.8 or 3.0 engine is capable of 600hp with stock internals, EFI and a turbine.
That's my pick.
Bump, and another one.
The quattro, 1.8T model.
300+ awhp on stock internals.

Porsche has topped the time charts in the opening day of testing at the Prologue, with the German manufacturer showing the upper hand in all three sessions at Paul Ricard.
Neel Jani ended as quickest of the day, thanks to the Swiss driver’s 1:37.487 lap set in Friday’s two-hour night session.
Jani’s time was 0.860 seconds quicker than the No. 5 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, which was second quickest overall on the time sheets, and also second in the twilight.
Audi continued its struggles with its new R18, as Andre Lotterer stopped on track midway through the session before returning to the pits under his own power. The car did not turn any additional laps.
It came after the No. 7 car missed the majority of the afternoon session due to a “small mechanical issue.” Audi has not disclosed the exact problems of its diesel-powered contender.
American Gustavo Menezes led the way in LMP2 in the night session, thanks to a 1:47.782 lap set in the No. 36 Signatech Alpine A460 Nissan.

>how can americucks even compete
this is what Haas should be doing
Cheaper, more advanced, more exciting, a chance of beating a car sponsored by a competitor
Anybody ever deal with this company?
I have a very high mileage car with a number of minor issues that I'm going to be selling pretty soon here that may be tricky to sell on the private market. I've heard that Carmax will make an offer on any car. Anybody ever sold them a vehicle? What was your experience like?
Family has used them for a while.
Prices are pretty low, but there's zero negotiation.
Got approved for a 370z being 21 with mediocre credit, so they'll work with you.
About a month after I got the car, the clutch was doing some funny shit, so I called them about it and they said bring it in.
They replaced the clutch slave cylinder and bled the whole system and I got it back in 3 days, meanwhile they stuck me in a sonata
Didn't spend a dime other than the fuel it took to get there and back.
so from my experience I say they are decent
I sold a 12 year old Subaru there 2 years ago. They offered me $300 under KBB dealer trade. Good enough. In and out with a check in under 20 minutes.
>>14713040
>$300 under KBB dealer trade.
Thanks. That's the info I was hoping people would share. Basically, my plan is to take the car to Carmax, make sure they're willing to buy it, and for how much. Then, I'm going to list the car for sale privately, and if anybody tries to lowball me, I'll just have that Carmax quote as my lowest possible number that I'll accept.
Just put a down payment on a 99 civic lx 4 door. 140,000 miles for $900

What do you think of him and his car?
An American with too many aspirations? He said he wants to win LeMans with this thing (or an evolution of it) eventually.
Bretty cool desu
SCG 003 or Ford GT or Corvette C7R
Thinking about getting an 07 Audi A4. Its got a 3.1L V6, 6 speed 95K on the meter. Know around this mileage I should probably do full check on the engine (I hear ignition coil overs and spark plugs go bad). Opinions?

>buying a used 8 year old audi
pls no

that bad?
Is it true that you can't really fix modern (~2008-Present?) vehicles as a home mechanic?
I hear it all the time:
>"It's all computers!"
>"You have to be a damn electrician to do anything!"
>"Only a dealer can access half of this stuff!"
>"Cars are more appliance than machine now!"
Are these claims true?
Not every new car is a Tesla, opie. It depends on the trim/options you get.
you can fix cars with computers now
>>14712134
>Are these claims true?
No. Old fucks, especially older mechanics (think ol' Scotty Kilmer) are just bitter fucks that the tools of trade have changed someone as cars have gotten newer. If you have the proper tools, you can DIY pretty much anything you are willing to figure out on a modern car
If anything, the increased use of sensors and computers makes it's easier to pinpoint problems on a newer car. Again, it's all about having the right tools.
Acquaintance of mine is moving out of the country and posted his 1998 Audi A4 Avant Quattro 2.8l 6 cyl for sale. 180k miles and autotragic transmission. He was asking $2000 but would do a friend price of $1200 for me if I take it as is (ie no nitpicking to take price down). Been looking for a daily driver since my truck gets horrible MPG (like 8) and $1200 is nice and affordable. I will take it to a euro shop for an inspection prior to actually buying it to make sure it's not a heap.
However, I do not know anything about European cars especially Audis. Is it a good or bad idea? He's been daily driving it for the past 3 years so it cannot be that bad.
Those V6s are nice and reliable. Dunno about the autotragics mated to it.
>buying German
>buying an Audi
>buying an old Audi
>buying an old, used Audi
It'll be more expensive to maintain vs something more boring, but in exchange it'll probably handle better and and be overall nicer to drive than your average shitbox.
For 2k id do it of nothing is in serius need of repair or replacement.
I recently had a bottle of arisol starting fluid fall off my bike and the cap broke off. At first, it was leaking a bit so I took it to our back porch and let it sit upright. That was about 2 hours ago. I came back to it and it no longer appears to be leaking (held it up to my ear, didn't hear anything, nothing looks like it's bubbling out of the top). What's the best way to dispose of this? The cap doesn't look like it can get placed back on, so it seems best to just get rid of it.
bury it in you backyard
>>14712081
throw it in a bonfire.

Is driving a Ferrari hard?
you have to afford it first
>>14711984
Depends on how many electronic nannies you leave on.
Just driving it? Probably not.
Driving it fast? Depends on the settings you use.
Driving it fast with all electronic assists off? Probably.
Is it actually possible to DD a 10+ yo american car in Europe?
I live in a crowded city and would love to own a car made in the US, but fear it might be impossible due to fuel and maintenance costs. One gallon of gas is about 4,05$ and most of the parts need to be imported from overseas.
Are there any american cars (somewhat avaiable in Europe) that won't rape me and my wallet in the ass?
>>14711627
>would love to own a car made in the US
fucking why? american cars are hardly practical for the us, much less europe
>>14711635
I like the way most of them look, it's rather uncommon to see them here.
>>14711627
You can daily drive almost anything, the question is what compromises are you willing to make to do it?
10 years is nowhere near old enough to worry about. I don't think I've ever owned a car newer than ten years old and I've daily driven most of them. My current daily driver is a 16 year old Sable and it's dependable as hell.
How do I go about making a reasonable offer on an old project car? Are there any resources or guides available?
old project cars are worth nothing
offer them some change and pocket lint
when they say no tell them
"ok then see you later masturbator"
they'll usually change their mind at that point
>buying old project cars
>ever
If I wanted to fix other people's fuck ups I'd be a mechanic.
>>14712983
This.
Always remember every dollar they spent "modifying" that shit means absolutely nothing to the resale value. If anything it actually LOWERS the value.
