I don't much care for the lastgen celicas, but i do have to admit the GTS factory rice turns my inner boyracer on a bit.
I'm a fan of the earlier-gen celicas from the early 1990's and before.
Good DD, probably a few bolt-ons for it from TRD. But you could honestly get better bang for your buck out of a Honda if you want a cheap project car.

So I've spent all my money on houses and shares, but still want a fun car.
I'm on my P plates for another 3 years, so turbo cars are out of the question, and my budget is max 5k.
What should I buy? Currently considering an E36 6 cyl or a Saab 9-3 V6.

Anything more specific than that? If I found, say, an NSX that'd need a rebuild after a flood, with the body being all there for $5k, would that be a worth while project car? Or would I be better served picking something a tad more pedestrian for my first project car?

Well I honestly dreaded asking this question because I never usually get positive responses on 4chan regarding anything I want to be informed on as a person new to the scene but sometimes I figured fuck it. I've never really but into cars before about a few months ago, I ogled as many Lambos and Bugattis as much as the next guy but I never had a real appreciation for it, until my I saw some kids in m3s at my local mall in the parking lot drifting at around 3 am, it was like something out of a movie. I got really interested and started to research it and have pretty much figured the best thing to get started is rwd car and good suspension, but I know theres more to it than just that? Anyone here that could actually give me some kind of advice? Whether it be mechanic advise or technique.

I bought a new daily to keep some miles off my truck when I don't need it. I started off buying a cheap, clean EP3, then my mom decided she was ready for a new vehicle the next day so I found her a 2015 Lexus RX350 F Sport, then realized her CR-V would make a much better daily for me than the Si so I sold that after owning it for 4 days and 200 miles and bought the CR-V.
now I'm just waiting for my girlfriend to get home so I can say goodbye to her and take off on the 15 hour trip home and hopefully get a good start on putting a new heater core in my '02 Grand Cherokee before the weekend comes to an end.
So, what are you guys working on? What cool cars or parts have you acquired recently? It's Friday night, grab a drink and pull up a chair.
