Hey /o/, new driver here looking to buy a 2000-2004 Corolla. I was wondering if the S model has any significant changes from the LE that actually affects the ride.

Whats the best project car for $300 in aus that will run an drive?
>>17757359
THREE HUNDRED DOLLARY-DOOS?
good luck finding a shitbox for under $500 aud these days mate. unless it's wrecked/has a blown engine you've got no chance of finding it that low.
best hope is to post an ad on Gumtree saying you're in desperate need for a car with rego but only have $300 because you've fallen on hard times. you MIGHT get lucky but odds are you wont.
>>17757359
Get on gumtree and find out you lazy cunt. But I promise you'll pay 5 times that getting it legal and safe to drive on the road
Can someone tell me that this isn't photoshopped?

Just because something can be done, doesn't mean that it should be done. Someone at Bentley forgot this.

But if that something makes money than that is all that matters.
Why do you think Ferrari is going ahead and jumping on the SUV trend as well? because it will put easy $$$$ in their pocket

dont worry anon
Im currently living with my parents and have two cars. my DD that is parked outside and my fun weekend car that goes in the garage that barely has any space and my fucking mom cooks in the garage (its an asian thing idgi)
like i have no space to work in the garage at all. I also have no outlets or source of power in the garage as it is detached from the house and old.
you should be happy you have a car.
>>17757125
>living in a city, shared parking lot in a quiet neighborhood
>can't do bigger repairs because to place to drain fluids and leave the car sitting
>have to store bike under a tarp
Hopefully I can get a place with garage when I move next year
>>17757129
we have a tiny shed that barely fits a car as well, but there's always tons of shit in there, so I have no choice but to park and work on it in the street. always wanted an old japanese car but they're theft magnets in my area. maybe someday
So I found a strangely cheap 2003 wrx for sale (2500$) and apart from the usual 203k miles, it also apparently needs a turbo. The car supposedly runs and drives, should i buy it expecting to swap out a 600$ part and have a functional wrx? Also, how bad does maintenance become at this milage?
Heres the craigslist link
https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/d/2003-subaru-impreza-wrx/6254660317.html
It isn't strangely cheap and it's highly unlikely that it just comes down to swapping out a turbo.
>>17757067
You're likely looking at servicing a tranny, replacing the turbo and possibly other items associated with it, headgaskets, timing, ringlands etc. are probably questionable too.
>>17757067
>should I buy someone's ruined 200k mile WRX with a 'blown turbo' and who knows what else wrong with it
You tell me.
Just started to look up websites in the U.S. but wondering how can I search outside of the U.S.? Anyone know of any websites or forums or anything really. I NEED THIS CAR
>>17757054
Where do you live?
Do you have $30k-$50k to spend on one? Because thats how much they go for.

i mean the fact that you couldn't find where to look for an E30 m3 on your own tells me you are probably underage and defintely do not have the type of money that gets you an E30 M3.

Heres an idea. Spend your money on something actually useful instead of ruining your car.
Stuck between buying two cars. First is a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and the second is a 2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0T. (The Cadillac pictured is the actual car in question, G8 is just a random photo)
The ATS is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles and is AWD (I live in the Midwest). It gets up and goes pretty quick and the ride is amazing. Interior is leaps and bounds ahead of the G8. It's not too expensive on gas either. There is one local in town that I wouldn't have to go far to purchase as well. Issues are the CUE system is prone to failure, it's more expensive on insurance, and it's a Cadillac. Expensive to fix.
The G8 is a car I wanted like crazy back when they came out. It's a solid V8 RWD car with a great aftermarket community should I go that way. It's overall just a fun car to drive and it's somewhat of a sleeper. Those who know it seem to respect it. It's cheaper on insurance and might be cheaper to maintain than the Cadillac. Issues are the front end suspension is weak, the lifter failure is destined to happen, and it's 9 years old. The interior is not the best. There are none of these for sale around me, so I would have to travel a good distance to get one.
The mileage on the Cadillac is 40k, the G8 will probably have 50-60k.
Overall just want a fun sporty car that doesn't weigh a shit ton like the Ford Taurus SHO I drove. I've gotten to drive both and they were both awesome cars but I can't make a decision.
>buying an automatic
>>17756657
Yeah I forgot to mention that I sit in traffic everyday. I figured a manual wouldn't be best for a DD.
>>17756649
>Issues are the front end suspension is weak, the lifter failure is destined to happen
Basically just the front strut mount bushings and LCA bushings are bad in the front. If the lifters haven't shat themselves by now, they won't. Most likely they've been replaced with the revised parts already.
