Looking to do some sleeper mods for my jetta. Dont want coils or anything that would be a dead giveaway the car has been modded. Any suggestions on where to start? Keep in mind im on a university student budget.

Heres an idea. Spend your money on something actually useful instead of ruining your car.

the engine is a 1.8t, idk why it came with the wrong badge

And destroy my engine without the supporting mods? Sounds legit
get it chipped on a dyno and enjoy it, dont do moar to it

well it's probably 400 pounds lighter.
Stage 2 tune and straight pipe exhaust. You'll gain a shit ton of power. 70+hp/tq

TSI engine mods:
K&N Performance Air Filter
Frequency Intelligent Valvetronic Exhaust System
Chiptune
If it's a N/A, you are fucked. Maybe you can fit an Audi turbo on it, but that requires some welding.

my girlfriend has a 94 Golf with a 1.8T out of a Jetta in it, got it in a trade at one time. has a 3" straightpipe, intake, and other random small mods and runs mid-13's on the 1/4 mile at 15lbs boost. the guy apparently didnt give us a racing ECU he used for it that gave it more shit but was close to destroying the engine
