best hope is to post an ad on Gumtree saying you're in desperate need for a car with rego but only have $300 because you've fallen on hard times. you MIGHT get lucky but odds are you wont.

Nah doesnt need to be road legal or come with rego, can get a dodgy roady easy enough anyway, and i know you can get get excels in good working order for $300. Its a throw a chinese turbo on it for a laugh kinda thing
