>be licensed in pennsylvania
>driving down through virginia on roadtrip
>cruising 10 over on an empty highway marked 55 mph, because that's what everyone does in pennsylvania
>(in PA they legally cannot ticket you until you go at least 6 mph over, so most cops will only ticket for more than 10 over)
>suddenly, cherries and berries.jpeg
>get ticketed for going 68/55 by virginia state trooper
>fml
>get home
>it turns out pennsyvlvania does not record or assign points for speeding tickets out of state, unless it's a felony offense
feels good knowing insurance won't find out. But I still have to pay a 150$ ticket to virginia. Fuck virginia.

>breaking the law
>finish class at 9 pm
>hungry as fuck and eager to get home
>drive down la crescenta
>road has a long wide stretch almost like a mini highway
>limit is 45
>gun it like I always do but this time I pushed it real far going 80 mph because no other cars
>get around the bend and almost to the main road (foothill)
>disco lights
>cop comes to the window and looks at me like I just killed somebody in front of him
>two more cop cars park behind his, all these cops standing around my car
>you were going 80 in a 45 back there, I flipped a 180 just to catch you, is there an emergency or something?
>no
>are you on drugs or maybe you drank something?
>no officer I don't do that kind of stuff
>well why the hell were you going so fast?
>Just really eager to get home, I just got out of class and I'm super hungry and wasn't really paying attention to my speed, that was really stupid of me officer I'm sorry
>he writes me up as going 70 in a 45 so I can just take the cheesy online traffic school to clear my record because I was so polite and straightforward with him
Every other time I've been pulled over I've been let off with warnings. Hell one time the chp just flashed his headlights at me when I was going 105 on the highway to warn me to slow down. I guess cops where I live aren't so harsh and really appreciate politeness and honesty.

What's the safest car to drive on the road right now?
What car is the most unsafe?
>motorcycles don't count, 4 wheels only plz
any car with the Top Safety Pick Plus rank I guess
any old small shitbox is the literal worst car you can drive
old cars are light because they are cheaply built with no focus on any kind of rigidity

why does it matter? anything built in the last 20 years is safe enough.
If you could grab any 2018 vehicle at no cost what would you choose?
I submit to you the 2018 Bugatti Chiron
0 - 60 in 2.5 seconds, Top speed over 250 and priced at a reasonable $2.9 million.

Baby G-Class
I have a problem with my z24 engine.
>start engine up
>runs and sounds fine
>choke kicks off
>rough idle and soon stalls and quits
>thinks there might be a problem with the idle circuit
>look to see and find out that the yellow wire that goes to the idle cut solenoid is showing a big fat lump near the end of it (which it shouldn't have, only smooth across)
My question is this since the idle circuit needs 12 volts consistently to run right.
If a wire insulation shows a big fat lump, does that mean that the copper wiring inside it is broke/snapped and is cutting off the 12 volts from reaching whatever it needs to reach?
Potentially, why don't you strip the insulation off and have a look what's going on under there? Or measure wire resistance with a multimeter
>>17762375
that's exactly what i was thinking.
Sorry, I'm just trying to learn about how car engines work.

What year is your pup, and does it have federal or California emissions.
has anything better than this existed? ever?
unreliable and inefficient, try again with something a little less ancient
>>17762341
1. if you need to rebuild under 10 years you're not treating it properly
2. go buy a prius if you're worried about fuel efficiency
3. tfw older engine means bad
try again

it's not really the deal itself that's great, but the truck itself. I overpayed but my then current vehicle's transmission shit itself in a bad way
it's my best deal because this ugly piece of shit will not die no matter what i do. I've taken it around the country twice (coast to coast). it's gotten me through the woods of NC, iced over backroads in ohio, and had no problem hauling everything i own from NC to WA. I've taken it through multiple winter road trips. it's 20 miles from 180k and I think I can get it to 200k no problem, except my parents keep whining at me to replace it
i love this thing

Any other LS owner's out there? This is my first luxury car.
It doesn't have near the balls that my 4.6L SN-95 GT did, but the LS has spoiled me to death.
Seeking advice and suggestions as a new owner.
Had I known that neither Chilton's or Hayne's produce a manual I probably wouldn't have bought the car.
Currently seeking common parts recommendations, specifically quality A-frame sway bar bushings and/or quality coil packs.

"1. Coils!!!!
The lincoln ls eats coils for breakfast lunch and dinner. Even through regular maintenance you might have coils and plugs go bad on you. Symptoms are check engine lights, misfires, dead cats and other problems if not taken care of properly. When changing these you might as well change the valve cover gaskets to prevent oil getting in the wells which probably damaged the coils in the first place. You should also change the spark plugs while you are at it, and remember to use good quality coils and plus otherwise you will have problems soon after you replace these. Be aware that any jerking, stuttering, or shaking can also be symptoms of a vacuum leak or bad pcv on top of the coils."
>>17761920
"2. Bushings!!!
The lincoln ls over time develops a hallow thud coming from the suspension. Most of the time it will be the sway bar bushings. In some cases it might be the axles, ball joints, control arms and others but check the bushings first as you may get other noises other then just the thud over small bumps. Inspection from a good mechanic or dealer (beware) would eventually find the culprit for the noise."
I have $7000 and I need a new car. It has to be Japanese and fast. Preferably under 100,000 miles.
