I'm looking into riding boots, but I'd rather spend the $300 on a pair of redwings or similar quality boot as I'm in desperate need of every day boots for my wardrobe. I understand motorcycle-specific boots will protect far better than a regular leather boot, but I don't have the money to dish out on two pairs of shoes. I'm wondering how well your nice leather boots held up against the road and if you switched over to a more protective boot afterward. Post pics of damaged boots if you have 'em. I'm spending my money first on a HJC full face helmet and jacket. The kind of riding I'll be doing is mostly commuting to and from work and around town, staying off highways, and eventual touring when I get more comfortable on the bike.

Work boots are not design the same type of ankle support/shin protection as riding boots.
In a pinch I've use combat style steel toes to ride with but the riding boots I have are much better and much more comfortable to ride with.
I can guarantee you red wings have almost no ankle support, and are only designed for durability and comfort walking, not riding.
HJC is shit BTW
Insurance company are gonna axe my policy soon because i do alot of night driving to work (Hospital Worker) and my telematics box (Black Box) records the time of day, speed, and miles. Is there anyway of cheating it so the box doesnt send the data off I.E gsm/gps jammers. Uk Here

Hello fellow memembers
I'm looking to get a car 2010 and newer and 40000 miles or less. Relaible and comfortable for long trips.
So far I came down to
Corrola 2012-
Mazda 6 2010-2012
Mazda 3 2012-
Impreza if im lucky 2010-2011
I'm a tall guy so have to test drive those. Corrola was alright for a short trip.
Any recomendations?

Battery is down to about 1/3 of it's CCAs and just barely turns the engine over, it doesn't seem to charge even after a 5 hour road trip at 70mph/2500 rpm... So it's pretty dickered. Is pic related a good battery and will it last at least 3years? Only $100 at Walmart.

Are Type-R Civic's any different mechanically (with the exception of the engine) than the normal civics?
Are they less reliable or harder on parts than the normal variant of the civic?
Would they cost more on average to own?, apart from more taxes or less fuel economy.
