Doesn't need to melt, just needs to weaken. Try holding your arm an inch above a campfire, it'll never melt but I bet sooner or later youre going to have to move your arm
>yfw when you can still buy this car brand new from Toyota for about $26K
I'd buy one immediately, don't need any of that "Progressive Avante" car design.

Id buy one fresh off the dealership showroom for that new Crown Victoria smell.

the problem is yourself. no one wants to talk to you because you bring nothing to the table. you're uninteresting.
>>16932998
Yeah. That must be it.
Not the ignorant people, but the intelligent are the issue.
So apparently it's completely legal to have this badge on your car. Any reason why?
Thinking about putting one on my car so that people stop tailgaiting.
>>16932649
I saw one on a fucking Accord once.
>Thinking about putting one on my car so that people stop tailgaiting.
If you don't have municipal plates nobody will be fooled.
>>16932649
It's completely legal cause it was specced with the police interceptor package. It's different than putting red and blue lights on your roof and painting "anontown police department" along the side.

I think most drivers would be.

>>16932421
eh. How much is a lower control arm for this shitbox anyways? Can't be much.
>>16932441
It also needs a set of tires and front struts, so I've gotta do some triage. Since i'll probably have to do an alignment after the struts or arm, should I just bite the bullet and do both at once?

>resister
Hey aut/o/bots,
I'm an idiot with no hobbies or gf, too much disposable income, and a retarded idea I need you to tell me is terrible and unworkable.
>Short version:
How ridiculously expensive and impractical would it be to put a 550+ hp LSx variant into a 99 CR-V exactly like picture related
>long version
I'm 31, homeowner, no outstanding debt or bills other than mortgage, union railroad conductor making about $80k annually
I have an old chebby pickup I paid cash for and I have a 99 CR-V I paid cash for.
I don't love either vehicle. The CR-V is my daily driver, it's a manual as it has about 120,000k miles. I'm 6'5 and it fits me and I enjoy hooning it like a dumbass even though it has no power. The double wishbone is nice.
Lately I've been having the retarded idea to put some nasty LS9 drivetrain or GM crate motor in. Obviously it would need significant supporting modifications including
>fabbed motor mounts
>fabbed drivetrain or driveshaft with total RWD conversion away from the pussy ass Honda awd
>Aftermarket suspension all around to cope with increased weight/power/cornering forces
>serious aftermarket brake, wheel and tire combo
>guages changed
>chassis bracing and probably a cage
>complete reworking of the electrical and ancillary engine systems
Oh and also, I can't wrench at all and I'd be paying a performance shop to do all this work.
I'm looking at like $50+k right? $50+k into a $4000 lesbian hairdresser car and I need to fuck right off with my bullshit right?
It's not going to work. The engine is sideways in the Honda. You'd have to rework the whole driveline and the engine won't fit without cutting the firewall.
LSx swap a BRZ to prove you're legit first then get back to us.
Oh yeah, the reason I want to do this stupid shit is that I've been into cars my whole life, love them, love sleepers, read about them, obsess about them and all the good performance ones I would want are $60k and don't fit me.
The Willys LSX all over YouTube inspired me and I have early onset midlife crisis kicking in. Been financially responsible my whole life and finally want to have a fast car that's actually mine.

Hi /o/, not a frequent user of the board, but i figured you'd have the best advices (yeah i red the sticky).
I'm considering buying a car, mainly as a daily driver, but that should also be:
- RWD
- Packing a good chassis (good enough at least)
- Not fuck expensive
- Preferably not xboxhuge
Trick is i'm a eurofag, so a lot of make and models you guys enjoy are unavailable to me.
I consider dropping up to 5k yurobucks, not including later mods and such.
And yes, with a stick.
> Inb4 miata
Why not a miata, but is it a good plateform to learn RWD handling? That's mainly all that matters to me.
buy an e46 with service history
>>16931207
dont buy an E46.
>but is it a good plateform to learn RWD handling?
you mean platform? and this is something you couldve googled yourself.
Because its cheap to own, cheap /easy to fix and upgrade.
When you want to have fun with a car, these matter way more than the power. Because if you are interested in learning how to drive, not just operate a car, you really want to start getting out of your comfort zone. And you don't want the thought of wrecking your more expensive car looming over your head when you overcook a corner and have to start slipping and sliding.
There are other cars that are also cheap, easy to fix and upgrade, but the Miata offers a good weight distribution, light weight, and RWD.
And when it comes to upgrading, especially for the track, buying the cheap car leaves you money for upgrading components to legit track spec stuff that is way better than the things that come on OEM cars, especially suspension. It also leaves you money to buy wheels with semi-slick tires.
All of this equals more time driving the car at the limit, which gives you the necessary experience and skill to drive faster cars properly. You don't get that kind of experience when you buy a higher performing car and become too afraid to wreck it, or can't afford to take it to the track.
Even Cristian Von Konigsegg had a 1st gen Miata early on..
>>16931278
>Preferably not xboxhuge
Only posers and migrants drive those kinds of BMW in my area. Can't afford to be mistook for any of those.
Also I find post E30 to be quite ugly.

The clutch won't engage. I used to have to put fluid in and pump it a few times to get it to engage if it sat fow awhile. I haven't started it in a few months and now I put in fluid, I pump it and the fluid doesn't go down. And the clutch pedal goes straight to the ground with hardly any effort. Any thoughts?
