Godspeed You! Black Emperor-Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
>it's a 'rapper spouts moral platitudes and critics jizz themselves' episode
>conscious/political hip hop record
>ridiculously safe and tame opinions
>praised as cutting edge and deep
Has there been a concious/political hip hop record this decade that hasn't been like this?
this is why hip hop is at its best when it doesnt take itself seriously, i.e. DOOM

i think good kid maad city did a good job with bringing up political and social topics more subtlety through the story without being "really makes you think" tier

I'll take LSD for the first time in a week or two. Post albums that could make it a better (or deeper) experience. Please, avoid clichés like prog. rock.

probably sitting in a musty box in a basement and has been for 20 years, whoever possessing it never knowing how sought after it really is
I've heard it. It's was just a recording of Michael from Vsauce cheating on his girlfriend and screaming out the lyrics to the Dead Flag Blues.

Bjork - Vespertine
i love Queen, i love their theatrics, i love their ridiculously elaborate layered guitar and vocal harmonies, i love their bombastic operatic influence
for what feels like months ive been scouring the internet for bands that sound even remotely like them. ive managed to find a good chunk of bands that sound similar to them, and they're really good bands too - Sparks, The Protomen, Jellyfish, Brendon Small's Galaktikon, The Darkness (mainly the later tracks on One Way Ticket), and probably my all-time favorite Foxy Shazam (mainly Introducing and Church of Rock 'n' Roll, especially the latter), but I'm still not satisfied. I feel like I still haven't found enough bands. feel like a fucking coke addict. I need my fix
I wish operatic rock was a big enough subgenre of rock to even be called a subgenre of rock because if it was it'd probably be my favorite subgenre
I like Queen too. Fuck the haters.
Try R.E.M
Try Foxy Shazam

Queen
I like Eminem... I really do... But damn... All of his shit is starting to sound the same. I'm finding his "freestyles" and rhyming styling in general so fucking uninteresting. Especially when there is not even a beat. Why the fuck does all of his new shit sound like this?

Go back to your drake and fgt.
If you seriously can't appreciated the genius behind those rhymes without a cliche catchy beat in the background then you don't deserve good music.
