For rock? Yes, without any doubt, but in general he have to compete against guys like Ellington and Mingus so he lose
>>
>>68583170
There are no greatest in music. It's not a competiton and I think the notion of best or the greatest is a hypothetical situtation. Check out his cover of Ravel's Bolero. It's just beautiful.

Man I don't like being that guy, but Ravel's bolero is so boring and lackluster, did you ever listen to his quartet, piano concert or mother goose?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U7osEigQZM

Bolero is only good for people getting into classical music and want to learn how each isntrument sound like ebcaeuse the way they enter the score

Miles believed that Hendrix and Betty had an affair which supposedly hastened the end of their marriage, but Betty denies this. Hendrix and Miles stayed close after the divorce, planning to record until Hendrix's death. The influence of Hendrix and especially Sly Stone on Miles Davis was obvious on the album Bitches Brew (1970), which ushered in the era of jazz fusion. The origin of the album's title is unknown, but some believe Miles was subtly paying tribute to Betty and her girlfriends. In fact, it is said that he originally wanted to call the album Witches Brew—it was Betty who convinced him to change it.[3]

Thanks, but I was referring to the music actually, not the title.
>>

Not OP, but thanks a lot. I have wondered what that album title means.

Agree? Thoughts?

>Style (image branding and marketing) are just as much art forms as music. And in the context of making music as a business, they are essential to the process of successfully communicating the artistic merit of the music.

>Style is the medium of communication. Music is the message. No style, no message = no career
>Yes style, no message = fleeting success (Jepsen, Mayberry, Marina)
>No style, yes message = limited success (Lanza, Herndon)
>Yes style, yes message = success (Grimes)

>Good artists have great ideas. Great artists have great ideas about how to communicate great ideas - it's all about taking artistry to the next level.

>>
>>68582490
The word 'art' is effectively meaningless. Sure, all disciplines can be elevated to the level of 'art', if 'art' is taken to mean a privileged, elevated level of craftsmanship.

In that sense, I would argue that the 'art' of 'style' works against the 'art' of music, as I enjoy it.

And if we accept your premise about which artists find long-term success (I don't have an opinion on Grimes myself), then I see a question of whether the message and style of the artist is amenable to 'style' -- which is a vascillating thing, moving at the speed of capitalism.

And style is not a medium, it is the thing being communicated (the body might be the medium, or any number of other things). Music is a medium, but as MacLuhan said...

Women don't give a fuck about "taste" they just want to feel good - if your taste makes them feel good then use it

If they listen to Beach House then you can say you're into it and it adds some emotional depth and vibes that can be positive

What really matters is just knowing what the fuck you're doing in general or else you're gonna be fucked and she's not going to think you're alpha and worth her time

She has to have the illusion - or reality - that you're one of the "alpha" men on some level

Which you can create or live in many different ways, it's up to you

But christ, making women the center of your world sounds so horrible. They really are pathetically trivial creatures in general.

At the same time, you can learn so much from them... honestly it just is something I don't know how to solve, an endless mystery almost

All I know is better to be alpha than a cuck, at the same time though if you get too attached to being alpha, you lose your sense of self and your existence

It's just generally really frustrating and confusing to me with the end result being the sense that I'm literally incapable of relating to or respecting women on any level

I literally just see them as sort of like mentally handicapped children - all of them

I can't respect them

I mean these words completely and it's really upsetting and frustrating
