i love Queen, i love their theatrics, i love their ridiculously elaborate layered guitar and vocal harmonies, i love their bombastic operatic influence
for what feels like months ive been scouring the internet for bands that sound even remotely like them. ive managed to find a good chunk of bands that sound similar to them, and they're really good bands too - Sparks, The Protomen, Jellyfish, Brendon Small's Galaktikon, The Darkness (mainly the later tracks on One Way Ticket), and probably my all-time favorite Foxy Shazam (mainly Introducing and Church of Rock 'n' Roll, especially the latter), but I'm still not satisfied. I feel like I still haven't found enough bands. feel like a fucking coke addict. I need my fix
I wish operatic rock was a big enough subgenre of rock to even be called a subgenre of rock because if it was it'd probably be my favorite subgenre
I like Queen too. Fuck the haters.
Try R.E.M
Try Foxy Shazam

MUSE
>>68575575
ive been meaning to try muse more. i do like what ive heard of them. at times the vocal harmonies can be quite impressive. but they are a lot synthier than queen. and at times the way the lead singer pronounces things can be a bit silly

my chemical romance
ELO maybe
>>68575975
very very good band, but a lot more orchestral synthpoppy doo-wop than operatic and bombastic
This is the Queen-iest Muse song but really only the falsetto part.

Maybe try Cardiacs?

yeah, i do really like that muse song. and cardiacs is one of my favorite bands but i dont really see the similarities between them and queen, though so many different people have compared them.
>>68575896
I don't recall them being very synthy on Origins of Symmetry
Then again, I haven't listened to that in like ten years so
>>68574756
Some early to mid 70s Bowie might fit your bill. Ziggy Stardust through probably Young Americans
