Serious question, is being Trans safe? I've seen stats from Huff Post and Buzfeed that claim being Trans is more dangerous then fighting at the Somme and (one of) my Uni's LGBT clubs never shuts up about how unsafe they all feel. This seems to be inconsistent with reality. Am I just out of touch or are they wrong?

It elevates your risk of violence, but it's based on your demographic. I'm a middle class white trans girl. I got badly abused by family, but outside of that my general risk isn't much higher than the average white woman.
Take a poor black trans girl or a Muslim Arab trans girl though, for example, and suddenly the risk compounds really badly. But they add those numbers to "trans violence statistics" to make it seem like this is a problem affecting all trannies.

I didn't see a thread like this so I made one. Feel free to share your experiences and talk about your feelings being a not too stereotypical guy/girl despite identifying as such.
My experience/thoughts:
I feel like this is a subject that is not frequently talked about. As a trans man, I personally love to look cute and wear things that may be considered more 'feminine', however if I do this I tend to look less masculine and fail to pass in others eyes. I like to look younger and more innocent and child-like simply because I look more cuter and people treat me much more nicely that way. I do like masculine clothing from time to time as well, but most of the time it's designed to be very plain and ugly, whereas the feminine ones are better designed and have more pizzazz to them.
I often feel pressured to act more 'macho man' and feel a slight pain whenever I see something cute in the 'girls' clothing isle and have to turn it away simply because if I were to wear it, it would mean I'm just a 'transtrender' to everyone else.
In my opinion, how you behave or what you wear should not determine yours, or anyone's gender, we should all be allowed to wear whatever we desire, and act as ourselves. I try not to care what anyone thinks of course, but it's hard whenever they make hurtful comments or say you're not truly what you identify as simply because of what you like.
Does anyone else FTM or MTF struggle with this? I just can't see myself as being the most macho manly guy ever, nor do I want to be. I like being cute and talking in a soft voice and being kind to others, I don't want to change that just to impress anyone else.

/lgbt/, I've been thinking. I know this post might be divisive, but I care more about getting this idea out there than being polite.
I want a story like Star Wars about an oppressive feminist empire that forces men and women to marry. Women have the option to be in lesbian couples, and men, if they are unsuccessful at getting married to a woman, are sold into slavery and basically worked to death.
The story would be about cute gay boys rebelling, defeating feminist Darth Vader, destroying some big machine (maybe an A.I.) that enforces the oppressive system, and then being granted eternal life by God and living happily ever after in a "garden of eden like" paradise.
It's become clear to me that the prevailing feminist/cultural marxist movement that is dominating at the moment actually hates gays, unless they're lesbians, they look like straight people, or behave according to self defeating stereotypes. This is why you'll never see a character like Luke Skywalker or Link who is gay (actually, you likely won't see a character like Luke Skywalker ever again in mainstream western movies or games, unless there is a tectonic shift in power to a group with a new political ideology).
Anyway, if you support the idea for this story, post ITT: ideas for it. I have some ideas of my own, and if I get good enough ideas, I will make a new post with a more fleshed out storyline later...
If this story can at the very least be a book by the time I'm done working on it I'll be very happy, but my dream is that it would be a movie or a game.
