Hey /k/ i was wondering if any of you know where i can order some custom ammunition for rare rifles. I have two guns im thinking about purchasing but i am afraid i wont be able to find anything to fire. The rounds i need are 13.2mm tuf and 7.7 x 58 arisaka.

7.7 is rarer than shit and most people horde it. I have a friend that made a huge batch for me and I have like 30 rounds of commercially made ammo.
>>
>>27954509
how much does your friend ask per round? also how much did your commercial ammo set you back?
>>
>>27954490
Dude at this point you've made at least 3 threads about various aspects of your rifle purchase. Why did you not just consolidate them from the start?

Soup, /k/ommandos?

Feels time.

My grandfather was the Director of US operations at Meprolight until his passing a few years back. The man knew his weapons better than anyone I've ever met, and represented Kimber, Colt, High Standard, Mossberg, Benelli, and SKB, through his job, though he was also a Browning fan, to my knowledge. Toward the end of his life, he worked more directly with Kimber, and appeared to have faith in the brand, despite some of their failings.

I've never respected anyone else as much as I respected him, and, sadly, with his passing we didn't receive any of his vast weapons collection, due to a sleazy attorney, and his will going "missing". I wanted to take one of his weapons as a family heirloom to pass down, but I'll never be able to, now.

So, /k/, I've decided to purchase my own "heirloom" weapon to pass on to my son, when he comes of age, in his honor.

I've narrowed it down to a handgun, as I would like to be able to carry it with me. Sort of a "grandad always has my back" sort of thing. Will you do me the honor of helping me choose, /k/?

My only conditions are that the sights are Meprolight, and the weapon is one of his represented/ favored brands. Sounds like shilling, I know, but they were incredible to him, all his life, and even sent a rep to speak at his funeral about him and pay half the costs.

His obituary.

I'm not too worried about being doxxed, since the thread is largely out of respect

Judging by everything you've said, it seems like a Kimber 1911 would be your best bet. Shop around for the one you like best. You can get Meprolight sights for them.

Just curious, if the guns didn't go to his family, what happened to them? Did the state take them? A sleazy family member?

>I'm not too worried about being doxxed, since the thread is largely out of respect
No worries. /k/ is (generally speaking) much more mature than the rest of 4chan. You have my condolences.
>>
One other thing.
As far as budget, I'd like to stay under $1500 or so, unless there's something I REALLY love.

I also won't pretend to be the expert he was. I certainly had gun safety and care drilled into my head as a kid, and I'm very comfortable with guns, but I don't know much, in terms of specific models and what guns are good and bad. I pretty much stuck to the guns he gave me, and learned them inside out.

I leaned more towards the /g/ side of life, through my early 20s, and only recently began shooting again.

>what happened to the guns
Honestly, I'm not totally sure...
I heard his place was like a gun/ golf museum, but none of the grandchildren were able to go to his place in NY (he moved there from GA, where we live) to see his place.

I don't know about laws regarding transporting across state lines, but I know, for sure, his dickead attorney scammed us all out of his money, somehow, because we ended up footing the funeral bill. I think my mom and her siblings only ended up getting a thousand or so, altogether, and I KNOW he had more money than that. Shit, he'd spend three or four times that on everyone every Christmas, and not break a sweat.

And I've heard the Kimber is really divisive. Any experiences with them? I also may have it engraved

Hey /k/, I want to buy my first handgun. As such, it'll be multi-purpose. I want it to be good enough for IPSC (I'm getting sports license), but dependable enough for personal defence and carry.

Objectives:
-accurate
-dependable
-nice trigger

Non-objectives
-light: so far I'm enjoying shooting with steel frames CZ and Tanfoglio the most, don't enjoy polymer handguns at all.
-small: I don't mind the gun printing. all I need to obey is letter of the law - have the gun in a holster, under a shirt. again, I find shooting bigger guns more fun, and to keep invested in a hobby, it needs to be fun.

As far as price is concerned, I prefer to pay for quality up front than to save couple bucks and then need to pay for replacing parts that keep breaking.

Has anyone developed a CQC art for pistols? Lets say sub 10 feet.

Is it possible to combine hand to hand combat with gun use in a coherent fashion?

What would be the best way to train?

Hey guys. I want to buy my sister a moderately priced handgun for Christmas (talk about a good gift lol). She's 24, slightly above average strength. She travels all around the country doing model work for new alcohol brands, energy drinks, etc. She thinks its pretty stupid but the money is damn good. Anyway, some of the places she goes to are fairly shady (higher crime cities, etc), and she currently has nothing but one of those small baby sized 1M volt stun guns.

But enough rambling, I was thinking of getting her a G17, BUT I don't know if I should instead get a G22. I've seen a handful of articles saying 9mm is now gaining its edge back from 40 S&W because of increased ballistics technology or something like that.. coming from someone not inside of the gun hobby, is there any validity in that?

What sayeth you, /k/?

maybe youd want to ask her what states she visits frequently and get her something compliant in the shitty states. although licensing might be a requirement in those places. glock 19 might be better if she has small hands or maybe try the new ones in .380.
>>
>>27953619
I don't know how much flak I'll catch on here for saying this but quite frankly I don't care about the varying laws, and neither does she. She travels all over the country, she's been to NY, NJ, and other liberal states so far.

The gun is just going to stay in her purse in case something really bad is about to happen to her, otherwise it might as well not exist. She's a very responsible, intelligent adult.
>>
>>27953657
yeah, she likely wouldn't have anything to worry about if she's responsible with it.

Aussie here, just has all my guns seized today with no compensation. I got a peeding ticket the other week and the police used that to deem me an "unfit person" and therefore not trusted to own a firearm.

The best thing I saw t the event was some old black dude with a semi auto Barretta 12 gauge, the thing had purple laminate furniture and "Too Legit to Quit" engraved in gothic script along the handgaurd. It was as if I had seen the face of God, and God was a pimp.

Seems kind of bizarre and overly elaborate to build a facility exclusively for shooting some poor sap named Ben Avery.
