i want to join the military (there's nowhere else for me to go and i need to escape this town) and i'd be interested in a correspondence/journalism position. i know i can score high enough on the ASVAB to land a role like that, but i have one question: can i do correspondence for the marines without actually joining the marines? i can prep myself for Army basic fine but Marine training's some hardcore shit compared to that and i don't think i'm skilled or dedicated enough for it.

460 weatherby magnum is an extreme excess; even .458 Lott is at or above the practical energy level required for a stopping cartridge on the largest animals that walk the planet. 500gr steel core FMJ at 2300ft/s is absurd, and 2600+ is just unnecessary. From my 9lb .458 Lott, the higher limits are a stupid amount of recoil and is painful on the face after shooting a few rounds even with a cheek/stock pad. I previously had a .45-70 that didn't come close to this in terms of kick; comparing the two is like .223 to 300WM.
