China tested their HQ-19 (THAAD-ER equivalent) again. Some pilot from Netherlands happened to take the pictures from his cockpit while flying to Hong Kong through Chinese airspace.

Spooky.

The flight path.
Missile came from Korla, which is China's ABM test range.

Post your favorite quotes ITT, /k/ related of course.
>"A soldier accepts personal responsibility for the safety of the body politic of which he is a member, defending it, if need be, with his life. The civilian does not."
>"Back when we audited the FBI academy in 1947, I was told that I ought not to use my pistol in their training program because it was not fair. Maybe the first thing one should demand of his sidearm is that it be unfair."

Tell me why I should buy a titanium firing pin for my pistol.
>The lightest, strongest firing pin for your VP9, VP40 pistol. Period!
Faster & reduced lock time for faster shots and improved accuracy. A true drop in part and the strongest, lightest firing pin available. Made from solid billeted Titanium which weighs half of the factory firing pin.
Does any of this reign true?
Can modifications to your firing pin effect trigger pull?
>pic related it's both of them side by side (they're literally the same image)
they mean the literal weight of the item, not the trigger pull. Titanium firing pins are usually for guns without firing pin safeties, like old 1911. The reduced weight makes the gun more drop-safe. But for new guns with firing pin safeties it's totally pointless.
>reduced lock time
Who the hell cares about this on a pistol? Sounds like they're trying to sell a gimmick

/thread
Hey /k/, I'm going to be buying a gun soon for home protection. But I'm afraid I might be denied on the background check. I have a misdemeanor for terroristic threatening 3rd degree. I was charged but not convicted, the charges were dismissed. I was reading online that charges being dismissed is the same as being not guilty.
So will I be okay if I go and try to buy a gun?
Should be fine.
>>34674308
Just buy privately.
No background check.
>>34674308
A charge being dismissed is not the same as being convicted. Dismissed means the state dropped it's charges.
Looking to get a Mauser. I own a bubba'd Swedish m/1894 that I'm currently selling for $400, kinda high considering I bought it for $320 with 100 rounds of ammo.
I already have the ammo, and I hear the Swedish Mausers are overall the best Mausers, so if I can find one I'm going to try to get an m/1896. This has proved to be rather challenging.
So, I want to know, what's the best overall Mauser for those on a budget? What's the cheapest Mauser out there? And which ones shoot the cheapest ammo? I'm not looking for anything super nice since I just got an Enfield/Mosin, just maybe something that costs about $200-400 and would fit in between those two in terms of quality.
Also, are the Swedish Mausers really that much better or is it an unnoticeable difference for an inexperienced shooter?
Pic unrelated

If you're worried about performance, every surplus Mauser sucks in terms of accuracy when compared to modern versions. Get a Ruger scout, Ruger m77, or cz550. There are some other options I can't remember.
>>34674241
A full stock 550 is GOAT tier accurate, A E S T H E T I C, and affordable (comparatively).
>>34674241
I'm not too worried, just if I'm gonna get one why not get the best
>>34674268
I considered that and chose to buy my two surplus rifles instead
Come on /k/, let's see your spread. Whether they're just yours or you and a friend. I can't be the only one who takes a picture my guns have a play date.
Looking for a reliable 9mm that I can practice with and improve on the fundamentals and possibly carry.
With the modular P320, I could buy the slightly more comfortable Compact version and pop the sub-compact frame on when I want to carry.
But from everything I've read, the trigger and ergonomics of the PPQ seem to win most comparisons, and might be better for helping practice with.
>>34674099
Glock 19, both the P320 and PPQ are overrated
PPQ wins
P320 sucks
>>34674099
They're both all right, but the P320 will have a bigger aftermarket because "it's the Army's gun," if that means anything to you.
With a new slide and barrel kit plus a frame, you'll end up paying the same or just under the price of an entirely new handgun. Swappable frames aren't shit.
I can't get over how tall the P320 is. It might be an issue for concealed carry, at least with the compact size.

When can we go full-on insurgency and ethnically cleanse all of south America?
Also what gun?
Relby V10, saw one of those on Cloud City not too long ago.
it's actually a Schermuly Multi-Purpose Gun
This is going to sound crazy, but does anybody give their children or younger siblings something for protection when theyre out and about doing kid stuff?
When I was a kid we'd bring out .22s just to shoot stuff with (rednecks), but after pic related it occurred to me that for all the urban exploration and messing around in the woods or abandoned places we could have run into something sketchy and im glad we were armed. Now ive got a younger sister and her and her friends do all that same stuff and part of me thinks it would be a good idea to give her a little something extra for protection. She was raised around guns, knows fire arms safety and is perfectly comfortable with them and it would give me and my parents some peace of mind. We're also in bumfuck redneck country so it wouldnt raise many alarm bells
>>34673725
I used to take a 22lr everywhere when roaming around, but you just cant do that shit anymore around here.
Personally I see nothing wrong with it. Times change, the woods I used to play in as a child now have literal insane hobos living in them, and now I carry something more substantial than 22lr.
don't let strangers near you and here's a pocket knife
>>34673725
Where I grew up either there was a big family dog to keep near the kids as they frolicked in the forest and fuck up anything that threatened them. Not that there was much usually. Any kid that didn't have a dog would usually get a gun. My first walkaround gun was a break action .410
and a couple different loads I just kept in a pocket. Probaby at age 11 or 12.

Anyone know what type of vest this is?
I know thats a big guy and it extremely painful for you to see a big guy pretend to be tactical, but I really like the look and design of this vest, and want to buy one of my own.

I need some advice. I'm being offered a free Arisaka for helping a friend with some stuff. Now, there's a lot of type 99s and type 38s to choose from and I've found a couple nice ones of each. The question is, which one should I get? I'm leaning towards the type 99 at this point, but objectively, which is the better rifle?
>>34672930
he's going to buy you one? not just give you one he has sitting in his basement? isn't that called being paid? or is it paid + straw purchase?
>>34673073
>>34672930
answer these questions anon. how many guns does this guy have to have to give you options?
Type 38 rifles typically were made better than the Type 99 rifles, especially the wartime productions. The 6.5 Jap shoots much softer than the 7.7 Jap. The Type 38 is older, and the lower serial numbers have potentially survived both world wars. Find a Type 38 with a shiny bore and the Chrysanthemum intact.
Is there any smgs that is high caliber and/or armor piercing ammo?

yes, it's called MUH DIK.
