I need to take off this "Redfield" front sight blade. I have no idea what it is aside from the name.
Through Google I found that it looks similar to the Redfields designed for the M1903. This one is on a Mauser.
There's one screw on top which loosens it, but I still can't take it off. I took the gun out of the stock to see if it was attached to a sight base but it's not. All I see is this screw which does nothing but loosen.
Please help. More pics on way.

maybe you need to punch out the blade, there could be a screw under it.
Or some idiot fudd JB welded everything in place (the blade in the dovetail and the post onto the barrel). If you pop out the dovetail and there's no screw, you're going to have to soak the whole thing in penetrating oil for a week or more to really get in there and have a hope of getting it all off.

Hey yourself, faggot.
Wanted to ask
Hello /k/. I don't usually come to this board, but now i came because i need some help from knowing people. So i found this Winchester 1873 model in garage or my grandpa. Later, it was revealed that it is replica. But i was wondering, can i shoot it with 44mm shells, with gunpowder in it, but without bullet. I also found 2 colts, and one smith wesson guns.
>>34686592
If they are replicas, you shouldn't. If you are unsure if they are replicas, take them to a gunsmith. Also post pics.

If you can make a 44mm shell fit into a winchester rifle...send pics.
Now's your opportunity to own the premier in handgun technology in a beefy, man-stopping caliber. The perfect truck gun or blunt force tool capable of caving in the thickest of elephant skulls. It's modern lines and perfect balance of style and efficiency will crush the spirits of your friends when you show up with this Alpha male chunk of Zamak-3 and space age plastics. You'll be blowing out the bullseye on every mag, while their custom shop 1911 is flopping around like a fish in their sweaty, envy-soaked palms. Included in the package are 2 mags, AND a top notch, machine woven, nylon holster with bonus mag pouch to hold said extra mag. This beauty has only been dropped once (see photo), but it has had absolutely no effect on the function or cosmetic attractiveness of this gun. Open to trades or outright purchase. I don't have a number in mind, so throw me an offer. You may just hook into the baddest ass pistol made in Lima, Ohio.

Colt Navy 1851 revolver maybe or something along those lines. I'm on my phone can't really see it but someone should know.
Can anybody identify these medals? My dad had them but I'm not sure where they came from. My father, grandfather and great grandfather all served in the military (Canadian army reserves, Austrian army, and Wehrmacht respectively). Given the English and French writing I would expect them to be from my father's time in the Canadian reserves, but the dates don't line up (he served in the late 80s and early 90s) and he didn't participate in any combat or anything so I don't see how I could have been awarded any medals, plus he never mentioned anything like that. The European style imagery also seems to not be Canadian. However the dates and language clearly don't along with my grandfather who served in the Austrian army in the early 60s, and they are clearly not Wehrmacht medals.
Anybody recognize them?
Those look like Swiss shooting medals.

Is it just me or is that eagle in the middle doing le supreme gentleman face?

My dad's stepdad is Swiss so they are probably his. Thanks anon!
You pussy 9mm fags wouldn't know a real caliber if it hit you right in the face
.45 > 9mm

This thread is an obvious psyop by 40fags to pit two great calibers against each other

I'm tired of these threads. Why aren't you?

What? That's clearly .50 AE
What's the ideal pistol/revolver weight for someone who is 5'7 and 150lbs?
Subcompacts are appealing to me (AKA anything 15-20oz) but I found this 4" 30oz revolver that I kinda fell in love with.
>>34685517
That's roughly my height and weight and that pic is something I'd start a thread with ...
I really enjoy my PPK but I think honestly something like a CZ-83 or CZ RAMI is ideal. You can always carry the big gun when you feel like it for whatever reason.
Building an ar pistol and ordered a 10.3 DD barrel. What length hand guard should I get? Post pics! Best pic gets interwebz points. Pic unrelated. Sorta.
What weapon would be ideal for a small robot to use in something like "Robot wars" against other robots?
>>34685366
.45 acp
>>34685366
you didn't say how small so I assume the current size is the reference, so in a real war, it would be a shaped charge for close encounter and a machine gun for long/medium range
smaller robots could be outfited with a single shaped charge and would act as kamikaze hunter-seeker moving landmines

Are gel tests just the nurburgring of firears?

American sports cars are unironically less shit because of that death trap
no

>>34685318
Yes.
Gel tests without proper anatomical structure within them are useless. Are people just huge slabs of uniform meat?

There is an interesting book on Kickstarter about veteran bring backs.

Edward Tinker's books? I have the first 3 volumes. They're interesting books. Of course, they're just stories so not everything will be 100% accurate.

"I killed a slant and took his sword home"
"I killed a kraut and took his pistol home"
Yeah, interesting.

There is more than just that. I remember one story of a vet picking up a Dutch Luger he found off of a dead Japanese officer. The finger was just a bone by the time he found him and when he grabbed it it took the finger with it and he brought it home too.

Really enjoy those meat targets of his. Someone should put all of those targets shoots together. They're fun to watch.
He is criminal undersubscribed. I'd want him in my group when the SHTF.
