ITT: We go to war
Just bumping to knock a better thread off. I'm petty like that.

yes
So congress is still considering that whole Space Corps thing....great.
How favorably do universities look upon active duty service when it comes to admissions?
I am currently enlisted, and might be selected to go back to school and earn a commission. I would like to apply to MIT, but have a shit college GPA from burning out and not admitting I had little desire to finish and stopped attending class. How could I best sell myself as someone who is active duty? People sell themselves to ivy schools by having extra curricular and interests and life experiences so maybe I should do the same? Maybe have my Captain write a letter of recommendation?
>>34652534
Why not look into West Point? They're pretty much the only ones who would look really favorably on prior service
>>34652539
Too old sen pai
There should be a veterans point of contact at every school. Might have some pointers for you
Would some removable velcro pads be good for a pasgt helmet? Anyone have experience with gutting the webbing in favor of velcro pads?
>>34652508
There used to be kits that did this before the ACH days. They looked exactly like an ACH setup on the underside.
The big issue though with the PASGT for me is the fact that the chinstrap is two point instead of 4, which makes it wobbly. Especially with NODs.
IMO, if you want a PASGT for aesthetics just leave it as-is. If you want a good helmet, just get an ACH instead of pouring money into a PASGT.
>>34652525
The pads are very cheap so cost isnt an issue. I get what you mean about the chin strap though.
>>34652508
webbing>>>pad
Glock + AR-15
Sig owners are generally pretty thicc (obese)

AR
>>34652474
This is the typical user of everything that you like
This gunjesus just slapped your raifus buttstock
What do you do?
slap his buttstock
>>34652469
Fap to the idea of my raifu being handled by gunjesus, what else?
>pretend to beta & ignore it
>wait a few months
>burn down his whole collection.
>tfw you will never get to use your carry gun
>tfw carrying it means being a pussy (no fighting back if someone decides to be a dick)
Feels bad, man.
Deal with it.
>>34652420
>carrying a gun means I have to be a responsible sane adult
Jeebus forfend. Be-still my aching farthole. How will I ever cope.
Are you 16?
Canadafag here. Reckon it's time I get myself a firearm. My problem is I have no idea where to start. I'm looking for a reliable shotgun that I can use for predator defense in the bush. It neers to be able to do hard damage to a bear within 10 yards
I need advice, I have no experience with weapons.
I read that the Remmington 870 12 gauge might be appropriate.
Professional opinions?
>>34652288
First thing: Dont get an AR, only idiots and soldiers and idiot soldiers use ARs.
Heard bad things about recently produced 870s. Also post in the Canada general, not here.

too short?
.22lr doesn't need much, but the ideal is around 5"
>>34652119
Don't worry. It's all about how you use it
>>34652119
For you
Railguns pretty fucking dope?
IDK you tell me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8kZo2xByPY
>>34651969
bretty cool, but not viable for actual field use any time soon.
>>34651969
Railguns are cool, but until we get Mr. Fusion- level power generation/density, those will be confined to ships
>>34652028
Power generation isn't an issue, it's capacitance storage.
If it was a zombie apocalypse show me your weapons that you will take with you for EDC.
>>34651750
Exactly.
So : what do you have in case of a """""Zombie""""" breakout ?
>>34651803
nothing because im not a idiot drumpf supporter
zombies are the lazy coward's fantasy
Too dumb and slow to present that much a threat, but just enough of a threat to not make it utterly pathetic.
Whenever people pipe up about their "zombie apocolypse", I always like how they almost always prefer the slow mindless ones, and not the running ones, and lord forbid, ones who can use tools.
Can someone name an example of a country in the past 50 years that waged a war without taking prisoners? Even ISIS gives quarter sometimes.
>>34651398
Maybe some African warlord or something
>ISIS gives quarter sometimes.
good luck with that homeboy
do americans take isis prisoners? afaik they don't consider that the geneva convention is applied to them
Where can I find some of that Chinese knock-off pseudo-MARPAT stuff that YPG/YPJ and other anti-Daesh militias always seem to be wearing?
HAHAHAHA!
These (literal) faggots won't last their first legit fire fight.
>>34651318
Pretty sure they've been there fighting as part of other groups for a while
>>34651333
>guard duty in the middle of your own territory
>getting in firefights
Whats a good weapon to intimidate and/mor mildly hurt someone? Like if I dont want to break a bone just maybe fuck up their face and get them to piss themselves. I was thinking some light wood from a 2x4 carved into a club or bat shape. Thots?
>>34651294
Anything in 9mm
>>34651298
He said intimidate too, that only covers mildly hurt.
>>34651294
>Thots?
Uh, sure, here
>>34651343
Whoops my bad
