So, looking at rear sight block mounted rails since my ak doesn't have side rails and not being sure how much I'll like gas tube mounted sights being that far forward. Suggestions? Photo for attention but also what i plan on doing to my machine.

How do I get a non-gimped AR in NY? After doing some research I think I can get an AR, but only if doesn't have a pistol grip, a mag with more than 10 round capacity, or a muzzle break. Are these parts I could change out myself (when I leave the state of course) or do they require knowledge/tools I'm unlikely to have? Are there other "get out of the city" tools I should consider besides shotguns?
