I just grabbed this for $200 at my local gun shop. I just wanted something cheap to keep in my car. Besides the snowflake ammo is there anything wrong with them? Got 10 days to return it and want to know if there's anything I should be aware of.
>>28444386
>$200 for a russian mak
whats broken on it?
>>28444405
I don't know. Seems to be in working order. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet though. They were asking $250 but dropped it to $200.
>>28444439
did you field strip it? hows the barrel look? Mak ammo is kinda snowflake but still pretty cheap. Hows the trigger feel in SA/DA?
Knives ruled as "not constitutionally protected arms" by WA state supreme court: http://q13fox.com/2015/12/31/state-supreme-court-rules-paring-knives-not-protected-by-second-amendment/
What the fuck.
Knives have existed in some form for nearly ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND YEARS. I didn't realize there was mass paring knife attacks going on in Seattle.
>>28447939
what about spoons?
>>28447939
Are baseball bats weapons yet?
What are /k/'s thoughts on the Tavor?
I own a nugget and a glock 19, but I don't have a semi-auto rifle. Should I get one or should I just stick with an AR15 or AK?
Tavours are good, well designed bullpups. But the BANG for your buck just isn't there. Ar15 builds at the same price range are just flat out better. There's also that business of being a bullpup that really fucks with lefties and people who shoot sometimes with the support hand. So I suggest no, get an ar15 or an ak, and with the money you saved buy a good optic, lots of ammo before the prices get even more jacked up, or another gun
I want one deeply everytime I pick it up.it feels so right.
>>28444385
First semi-auto? Just get an AR brah. Especially now when the prices are good, they're gonna start climbing up as we get closer to election bullshit.
/k/ why does nobody discuss Springfield? I CCW a full size XDM 9mm because 19+1 rounds is better than a meme11 low cap

Just dropping by to let you know that you're a retard.
>>28444233
I dont know either.
They seem pretty popular.
/k/ I'm thinking of getting a coach gun for the fun of it, but I was wondering, would one of these be terrible for home defense? or perfectly adequate?
>>28444202
depends on the skill of the operator
do you trust yourself to never miss the 2 shots?
how fast can you reload?
a pump would be more practical cheaper and hold more bullets for fun why not
Seriously limited but far better then nothing, with the advantage that they are extremely simple to operate.
I'd reach for a pistol first, but if it's the only gun you have you'd do far better with a coach gun then with a baseball bat.
As a personal note, they are damn fun guns.
>>28444261
if the answer to the first question is yes, I'd think it would suffice, 18 pellets of 00 buck through the chest is a mighty powerful thing I'd think. but good point on price vs functionality, it really is just a fungun I guess. but damn do I want one.
>>28444275
honestly I trust myself with long guns more, I see the benefit of a pistol, but I'm better and more comfortable with long guns in general. which both count a lot to me at home.
Id love to get a semi 357. Looking for replies from people that have experience with either (both would be better).
>pic unrelated
>>28444200
really....nobody? I expected more from my fellow /k/ommandos.
>>28444200
There's really no point in having a semi-auto pistol in a rimmed cartridge these days. 10mm will meet or exceed that level of energy depending on the loading. I would look into 10mm if I were you.
>>28444200
>Talk about handguns.

Should I go Police or Military? What are /k/'s votes?
>>28444166
.mil or bust

Police in military.

I can guarantee that none of the yes people have even applied for a fucking firearm.
I know it's probably a moot point, but do think HK will ever build and release the HK243(G36) here states side? or is the closest we'll get is the .22LR walther clone(ish)
>>28443972
why would you want it? The germans don't want it.
>>28443995
+1 reply
Because of reasons.
Remember, the U.S. army has tried twice now to replace the M4. The only reason we still use it, is because nobody else can or will sell a new rifle to the DOD for the same price that we pay for an M4($250-$500per unit)
Bring it
How far up your ass did you get it before you thought it was stuck?

Why do you act like an attention whore?
In /k/'s opinion, what is the best type of sword for the average, untrained person to wield against other unarmed and unarmored enemies lacking martial training?
dragon dildo bat
One you leave at home.
Want a weapon? Get a gun.
Want to cut things? Get a big knife or axe.
Katana, kopis, diphos...
Not necessarily in that order.
The kopis is the best IMO because it can be used for other things, like as a machete.
The katana because it's intuitive. Diphos is good.
/k/, a local shop near me made too many 308 suppressors, and is selling them for near cost (or so they say)
They are full size, stainless steel suppressors. I'm tempted, and they seem very well made. Price is $399 (plus $200 tax stamp)
Should I buy one?
>>28443667
Do you really think you're no name shop's suppressors are going to be as good as one of the big name brands?
Your CLEO signs, right? (Or you going the trust route?)
Also, what ya gonna put the can on?
I've got my Gemtech TPR-S on a FN SPR (gen 1) and also on a SIG LRS-2. Much fun to shoot.
>>28443704
These guys normally do barrel threading. It's what they are known for, and they are backed up 4 months if you want a rifle threaded. So, their rifle threading seems to be loved by the community, I'm betting that their cans aren't half bad.
>>28443716
I already have a liberty mystic x and a YHM 7.62 titanium phantom on the way.
I'm figuring that the titanium isn't as durable or good with heat, so I'll save the YHM for my bolt guns (22-250, .240 weatherby, .270), and this no-name cheaper stainless steel one for high-volume 5.56 and 7.62x39
For a carry pistol, preferably striker fired, is there anything that can compare?
>>28443614
It's a great gun, but finding a holster to carry it comfortably for any length of time (that is under $100) has been a challenge. I carry a beater M8 from time to time.
I would kill for a modernized poly-lower M13.
To answer your question, I haven't found anything comparable.
>>28444124
>price of pistol upwards of 2k
>can't find a cheap holster
What is wrong with you?
>Carrying a $2500 gun
Have fun with the holster wear or having it rust away in a police evidence locker if it ever gets used.
There's a reason people carry Shields and Lel-Keks
I'm moving out soon and I'm finally going to see if I can buy a gun, thanks to idiots on our government.
Anyway, when I was 9, yes, 9, I kid you not, I was hyped up for something I cant remember, so hyper that my school said I needed physc help and sent me against my parents will, by amberlamps, to a hospital.
Yes. A 9 year old in a mental ward, crack heads and freaks roamed around. I spent two god damn days there.
Don't ask me how that is legal.
6 years later and I'm 15. And I am depressed and telling my parents my life is so hard and that I need some help with school
wait, your life is so hard?
They think I'm suicidal and that I cut my wrists due to scratches from the fucking family cat.
Fuck me. I'm in another hospital, though I leave 9 hours later on 'not a threat to himself or others'
so yeah. I'm not getting a damn hunting rifle thanks to our warped gun laws.
>>28443362
It sounds like the gun laws themselves are not the problem, its our fucked up mental healthcare system and the laws governing it.
>>28443362
You don't need a gun, psycho.

There are two types of people on /k/
I was looking around the interwebs and found this little fan art of the F-16. Basically it took the airframe of the proposed F-16AT Falcon 21, gave it a DSI and a LOAN both of which were fitted to test F-16s. Now that the F-16V has been flown, perhaps the APG-83 SABR AESA radar can be fitted too. While I think the CFTs really do make the cute plane uglier, they are quite useful and can be removed too. Any thoughts? While I don't think it'd be too useful it is cool, and could be used as an export fighter or an economy fighter. (yes I'm aware the F-16IN designation is incorrect)

Can't we develop better missiles?
What do missiles use for fuel? If we could find a fuel that's twice as powerful, the same size missile could have double the payload.
What about explosive? I know what they use isn't nearly as powerful as pure nitroglycerin, right?
If they could double the explosive power and double the fuels efficiency, planes could carry twice as many missiles.
Cruise missiles would be half the size, or get twice the range and have twice the power if they kept the size the same.
WE ARE STILL USING TECH FROM LIKE FIVE DECADES AGO, right?
>>28443320
Most aircraft have some pipe dream like this, unless they're the F-18 or F-15, where they actually shell out the money and made it because they won the political war.
>tfw no engine was ever made that wasn't undersized for the F-14's massive pylons.
>ATG was a hack
>No bomber formations to shoot your massive missile at.
>Your radar was a hack from a different plane
>So was your wings.
