There's really no point in having a semi-auto pistol in a rimmed cartridge these days. 10mm will meet or exceed that level of energy depending on the loading. I would look into 10mm if I were you.

thats a pretty valid point. Id love a Delta Elite. What kind of difference in recoil could I expect?
I know what 357 in a 2in snub feels like, but have never shot a 10. Knowing that recoil is absorbed in a semi action, can I assume theres even much difference between the two?

My only real concern, is that most mass produced, off the shelf, 10 ammo seems to not be loaded to full potential...according to things Ive read anyways. Sadly, I dont have the facilities to handload my own ammo at this time. Also, since Im a 5'9 manlet, with small hands as well, the 10 would probably be easier to wrap my paws around due to oal.

Uhhhh.... not really. I don't think that a 10mm loaded to higher energies or chamber pressures than a hot .357 Magnum would be safe to shoot even if the case could hold the powder necessary.

delta elites are kind of shit. they can't handle full house 10mm and have general frame life issues. really, 10mm 1911s are a bad idea. they're more suited to low pressure calibers like .45.
they've been made to work reasonably well I hear by people who aren't colt.
