Can anyone recommend a good edc knife? I'm looking for a small fixed blade for general use. Preferably one with a 3 inch blade and a leather sheath. I don't really like to carry a folder in my pocket on a clip because I'm constantly putting things in and out of my pockets. Price isn't really an issue. Any other preferences would be that the steel it's made from would hold its edge fairly well, so I don't have to be constantly sharpening it.

So I was reading Hannibal and noticed Clarice's interesting setup for her 1911
>"He pointed with his wattled chin at Starling's main sidearm, a well-worn Colt.45 Government Model with a strip of skateboard tape on the grip..."
This actually makes a lot of sense when I think about it, seems a lot cheaper than stippling. What are some interesting/unusual mods for firearms?

I don't know how you could possibly not know this has been a really common thing since skateboard tape was invented. Guns have always needed grippier grips.
Dude people use skateboard tape for all kinds of shit that you need to make grippier. Gonna blow your mind here but you can use it on:

My Godfather was a career Marine and served 4 combat tours in Vietnam. I asked him what the most realistic Vietnam movie was and he said without hesitation Forest Gump. Jungle combat is just absolute fucking point blank chaos and you have no idea what the fuck is going on. Most of the time though its just walking through the jungle endlessly through razor grass and monsoons, followed by very short periods of blinding unimaginable violence. He told me that on two separate occasions his platoon was ambushed at a distance of less than 10 yards, and on another occasion a man in his platoon literally stepped on a gook thats how close they were. He said they were so close you could tell if they had shaved their faces recently. "Close enough to spit on them" as he put it. Hand to hand combat, bayonet fighting, and resorting to beating enemies with rocks and sticks was not unheard of. A man in his platoon also Mike Tysone'd a guy. Took a good hunk of his face off with his mouth before driving a bayonet through his skull. He also told me a story where they captured about a dozen unarmed teenage aged kids acting as scouts. Instead of reporting it, and dragging them 2 days back through the jungle they just fucking greased em all on the spot and pissed on their bodies.
No one cares. And that's not a war, that's just gore posting. We have /b/ for that.

>I asked him what the most realistic Vietnam movie was and he said without hesitation Forest Gump.
LOL. When I was a kid I recall a number of WW2 vets who told me the most authentic war movie was Kelly's Heroes. They liked the scene where the Shermans came through the tunnel and wiped out the krauts the best. That got it right, they said, and laughed and clapped each other on the shoulder.
At the time I thought it was just because they dug it because of some kind of wish-fulfillment -- pal around with movie stars, get rich, be rebellious, etc. It wasn't until I was much, much older that all their griping about Army bureaucracy, their genuine fear of German armor, and the way we used our *own* armor -- to run over their infantry, a la Donald Sutherland -- sprang into focus.

Any other Corrections Officers have any good stories out there?
>Be working max unit at women's prison

Not any story but is that inmate just watching them about to do a high risk entry or whatever? Or is this a stock training photo. Is it normal they just wander around?

Because nothing says "minimizing civilian casualties" like an invasion leading to a protracted and arduous ground war and occupation against an enemy who's prepared to literally throw school children into the grinder.
So since I live in commie Europe and cant own an AR-15 or AK variant without some ridiculous requirements, I was thinking of getting myself a Benelli MR1. So my questions to you are is it a reliable gun? and where can I get a hold of aftermarket parts for it(like pistol grip and AR-15 mags? It has to be a shop based in the EU because of stupid rules about gun part export and import.
At least in Germany there are lots of shops selling ar15 magazines
Most would probably order and ship the grip for you if you email them
>>28460672
if you can get benelli tactical shotgun stocks for the Beretta MR1 then you're good.
the irony is that getting the pistol grip/collapsing stock version of the imported benelli 5.56 "tactical" rifle in the US is near impossible. It's a yurocuck exclusive through and through
>>28460680
I have found a shop who sells AR mags but stocks and pistol grips are much harder to find I feel. Do you know any german sites that I can look up?
hey /k/, when should you tell a girl you're into guns?

Never. If she's worth dating she'll already know. If she's worth marrying she'll be into them also.
So realistically, what would be the odds of a WW1 fighter going up against a WW2 fighter and winning? Obviously the WW2 fighter has the advantage but if the WW1 fighter had a numerical advantage would it be able to pull it off? Or was the gap in technology so big that it wouldn't even matter how many planes were fighting?
For the sake of discussion, let's use the Spad XIII and the P38 Lightning.
WWI and WWII fighters are worlds apart in terms of performance. There was a huge leap in airplane technology in the 30's, planes build during WWI were way outclassed by biplanes built even 15 years later. the 38's would be traveling so fast comparatively that the spads would need a hail Mary of a shot to even moderately damage them with their two machine guns
The P-38 would kill them until it ran out of munition, and the be able to ram them wing to wing and come off unharmed for a few more kills.
>>28457512
>>28457607
So, we're looking at needing 100 or so Spad's to take out 1 P-38?
Why are the Americlaps so upset that the Russians have once against outclassed them in armour development?
The Armata has standardized features not found on any other vehicle. Why do people assume that US and NATO tanks are better?
NATO only really achieved technical parity sometime in the mid-1980s with their Leopard 2 and M1A1.
Up until the 1990s, the bulk of the US tank force were hopelessly outdated M60 series vehicles, shit-wagons like the AMX-30 and tin-armoured Leopard 1 which couldn't even scratch the T-72A and B, T-64B, not to mention anything from the T-80 line.
Also Slav tonk thread. Shitpost away, you conceited cunts.
Show proof that Armata outclasses M1A2 and I'll believe. And then show it can outclass an M1A2SEP.

Simulator shows that 1 armata can take out 6 abrams

Oh boy here we go
>armata is alot better than abrams tank
>Simulator shows that 1 armata can take out 6 abrams
I'll admit that it's newer, however it's complete unproven and thus no real judgements can be made until more than a handful are made and a few get shot at.
>KA 50 blackshark is faster, more advanced tech, better armored and can carry more weapons than Apache
Depends on which version of the Apache
>Russian navy is actually better and more advanced than US navy
Now that is just right out false.

So why does the M1 Abrams platform use a smoothbore gun? I find it confusing that most modern projectile weaponry uses rifling but for some reason this does not. I know the cannon is still accurate but wouldn't it make more sense to be even more accurate with rifling?
The only downside to rifling that I could think of would be that eventually the projectile is going to sway in the direction of the rifling, however I didn't think with such a short travel time it would be noticeable.
Also I couldn't find a tank general thread to ask this in so I apologize if I just missed the thread.
>>28448538
Rifled barrels wear out a lot faster. Easier to rifle the projecticle.
>>28448538
Can't shoot HEAT.
>>28448538
Pretty much only the British MTB uses rifled barrels.

The only real advantage to a revolver over an auto pistol is that the slide vs. cylinder action is less likely to be caught and fouled in loose clothing/hair/concealment/cover garments/fouled by a grapple or improper grip. Auto pistols are superior as a self defense pistol in reliability (due to simplicity of functionality and low amount of moving parts), ease of malfunction clearances, reload speed and ease, concealment for the amount of rounds due to size, primarily thickness) and CHIEFLY capacity. Revolvers have many more problems then people care to remember or think about, debris/fauna/garments getting caught in the cylinder, primers walking out of cartridges, incorrect timing, internal malfunctions and fragility of their mechanisms (revolvers are fucking swiss watches), short stroking trigger pulls (muh training issues), excessive case wall expansion locking up the ejection rod, among countless other problems. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that WHEN (not if) the pistol jams 9/10 the malfunction with an auto pistol can be cleared manually. When the revolver malfunctions, 9/10 you're better off using it as an impact weapon. In addition to this, capacity is paramount in a self defense pistol. More rounds = more time in the fight, and the one benefit that a revolver offers no where near out weighs the element of a good semi-auto fighting pistol, let alone the totality that all the elements that a good semi-auto fighting pistol brings to the table.
A revolver will kill you just as dead just as any good as any good auto pistol would. But in a world where the Glock 19/26/43 exists, why would you bother using anything else?"
>>28446563
> But in a world where the Glock 19/26/43 exists, why would you bother using anything else?

Not a dude that carries revolvers but why the fuck do you even care if some guy wants to carry what he thinks is cool, and what suits him perfectly. Seriously fuck you guy, stop shitting on peoples preferences.
