Put aside the shitty story and the crappy youtube use should people that think or peform the actions that the character portrayed in the story be allowed to purchase and own a firearm?
Honest question here should the person that begins to think and do actions that would deem questionable be actually allowed to own a gun or should the person be discarded from going near a firearm?
Should it be the family and friends to have the final say on rather or not the person that they know would be trusted mentally and emotionally to own and use a forearm or should the final say on that go from the higher up like the police or a psychiatrist?
Please don't throw hateful messages on here I'm genuinely curious about your own personal viewpoint on this subject.
For those that wonder why I used the video it is because I want to have something on here to give you as an example of the question I am asking.

Your weight/size has nothing to do with how capable you are of controlling a handgun.
Look for S&W .357 Magnums, just about any will perform fine so it's more about what frame size you like and your budget. Physically handle a firearm in a store and preferably at a range before you buy.
Prepare for the shitstorm you have brought upon yourself.

How hard would it be, theoretically, to either convert or reverse engineer a gun from a small 5.56 caliber to a larger caliber (like .308 or 6.5 creed). I'm not thinking AR, I'm actually thinking RDB. I understand if have to basically re-manufacture it from the ground up, but I was wondering if it would be at all feasible (assuming kel-tec doesn't make one first). This would be a pet project more than anything else so yeah, just curious about what EXACTLY would need to happen.
Considering that soon I'll be going to school and taking machining classes so I could potentially make any parts I need for free (as long as they aren't obviously gun parts), I might even be able to do it on the cheap.
I don't want an rfb because they are complicated on the inside but and rdb or m43 in 6.5 creed makes my dick hard.

So what exactly are the merits of a striker fire vs a hammer fired?
In my limited knowledge it just seems like striker fired would be more simple and has less that could go wrong.
Is it harder to make the sears work for a striker than a hammer or something? Since there's less to grab on to?
Are there any striker fired semi-auto rifles? Every one I know of is hammer fired. Why is that?

Most bolt action rifles are striker fired.
A couple semi-auto / full auto rifles like the VZ58 and the AS VAL / VSS rifles. But in rifles it's questionably simpler because the striker requires an additional guide rod. A semi auto bolt usually doesn't extend back to where the trigger group is. There's also something some people call a "linear hammer" which is exactly the same except with a separate firing pin, the linear hammer doesn't directly hit the primer.
Also ignore anyone who says the Glock is single action. It's double action, pulling the trigger pulls the striker back, but it's partially pre-cocked similar to putting a hammer on half-cock to make the trigger pull smoother.

Type 97 for sure plus I think one of the VSS or AS Val family rifles uses linear hammer(possibly the vikhr).

french counter terror and german counter terror use them, american helicopter pilots and mounted gunners use them as well IIRC.
most militaries issue goggles or glasses that protect from shrapnel, because shrapnel is more of a threat inna sandbox. For counter terror units kicking in doors, they have more of a concern taking a round to the face. Its not really useful for everyone to have a face shield.

Four hundred ducks for a lightly used S&W M&P Full size .40. This includes all original equipment that came with the range kit. Three mags, some speed loader, plastic sheath, +250 rounds. Is this a good deal or fair?

With all this political crap going on my father persuaded my mom (she's a retired judge) to finally get gun license and apparently he's buying a gun.
Only he's sort of a germanboo (he has huge Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe assburgers watches these ww2 documentaries all the damned time) and he's now dead set on buying a fucking walther p38
I initially fucking laughed at him but I see the germans kept making these pistols until 2004 so there's something to it.
I also told him to go to the gun range but he's like durr I shot more pistols in the army 40 years ago (he's 70 but in great shape, no health problems at all) than you've seen tits kid
TL;DR slav father wants walther p38, how retarded this is and what do I recommend him instead, probably has to be a german gun
