So, I recently shot a gun inside of a house without ear pro, and my fucking world lit up. It was like a flashbang without the flash.
I'm seriously considering getting earpro of some kind that would be usable in a tactical sense. Does anyone with maybe military/police experience (or otherwise) clearing buildings have input on this?
I know exactly what you mean anon, ex mil myself with the unfortunate experience of shooting indoors with no ear pro. I keep a pair of these hanging on my bedpost for this exact situation. Great for the price and you still have situational awareness because of the amplification.

You huge faggot
Chainsaw helmet with strobe headlamp or bust.
Hello /k, first time poster here.
What is the largest knife on the market? I'm an avid hiker/outdoors person, and I like to dress to match. I know they aren't practical, but they just look so fucking cool.
pic related is a "Catachan Fang" used by the Catachan Jungle Fighters in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. Measuring some 20 inches of steel not including the handle.
I know this may seem silly, but I want one. Is there anywhere I can get a knife similar to this? Kinda the same shape too, so don't suggest a Kukri or Machete, they aren't a Catachan Fang.
>>28435402
budk has the Timber Rattler Western Outlaw for like 20 bucks
huge motherfucking full tang knife, cheap too
>>28435402
>Catachan Fang.
Here, this is large and you could beat someone to death with it. Beat them, not just stab them. Has a great warranty and will serve you for years.

There are 2 knife threads up already you lazy turd. Find a CS bowie machete and sand off the finish, then lurk moar.
>power in between 380acp and 9mm
>loud as an UNSUPPRESSED 22.lr
>Has to be filled back up with gas every 5 shots to avoid any accuracy and velocity changes
>barely qualifies as being made in the USA
>around the $1,300 mark
>622-722fps depending on the gas added
>retarded space gun look
>average range is 100 FUCKING FEET
What the hell is wrong with a standard suppressed hunting rifle with sub sonic ammo?!
Some people like airguns, why are you so upset at having more options?
>>28435260
I'm not upset I'm stunned at how someone can think a rifle with half the speed of a 22. lr and the stopping power of 9mm is a good idea...and cost $1300 at the same time.
I think it's more of a proof of concept than a legitimate consumer product.
Kind of like how electric cars were 5 years ago, and look how far they came.

did you bother to shoot one before buying it op?
>>28434992
Not really. Fun and compact but good luck hitting anything reliably after the first 10-15 yards.
People argue back and forth on them but the end result is that they're pretty meh. Not terrible but not great either.
This may apply to any pistol though.
It seems really hard to load 9mm bullets into the magazine of the XDs. Is it normal to take so much force to push them in? Is there some kind of trick or proper way to do it?
You must be new to handguns. It can take some force to load certain double stack magazines. Some just have stiffer springs than others.
Is it a new magazine? Some magazines have really stiff springs when they're new. Maybe consider getting one of these things, they make loading mags so much quicker and really save your thumbs.
>>28434794
>How do load magazine gaiz?
>Not in QTDDTOT
Really dude?
Buy a speed loader or watch a YT video.
I'm really stuck pals. 7.62x39 vs. 5.56x45. I want to like the 7.62x39 but 5.56 has so many different ammo types. If I only had to pick one I don't know what I would pick.
i have both an akm and a ar15.
just get both.
akm is better, but heavier. the ar15 is way easier to shoot and to take out on my land. lighter. but the akm hits harder. different philosophers
7.62x39 if you want to sbr or pistol. 5.56 if you want rifle or carbine.

5.45x39?
Hey /k/,
I live in the PNW in an environment that can vary from 25 yards of dense woodland, to 1,000 yards of clear cut, and then to rural urban environment (town's population is ~1,000 with many lakes and damns in the surrounding area.)
The nearest town of 30,000+ people is about 20/25 minutes away.
I currently have a Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot with a Scalarworks QD mount on my AR-15 (16" barrel, A2 flash hider, free float handguard, with Troy BUIS) *I'll post a pic tomorrow*
>My question is does /k/ think a variable optic, such as the Primary Arms ACSS 1-6x, would suit my environment better?
>tl;dr red dot or variable scope?
I have debated using a folding qd magnifier.
My friend's 3x didn't seem to be worth it but 6x has 1.9" eye relief.
Thoughts?
>>28433930
Red dot with a magnifier, or a 1-4x, or if you have money that really spiffy 1.5-6x that costs 3k
>>28433930
1-4 with 45 degree red dot
I have a similar dilemma here in Colorado. I have considered going with a 1-4 and/or 1-6 with a setup like pic related. Maybe a canted primary arms red dot instead.
If someone were to lie about their medical history at meps while enlisting, what are their chances of getting caught?

Can any of you lads help me out here?
I'm looking to buy a sword to use for decoration. Specifically, this one: http://www.amazon.com/Dream2reality-Cosplay-Shirayuki-Tempered-Handmade/dp/B00C7A9LLA
My issue is, I don't know anything about swords, and there are multiple options that have things to do with terminology that I don't understand which affect the price. Any advice?
>>28433607
If it's just for decoration then get the cheapest one.
>>28433762
Okay, but do you think it will look the part? While it won't be used for any kind of sparring or anything, I don't want it to be anything too poor looking.
>>28433837
the money you save on sword can be spent on new fedora
How effective would a napalm shell be for tanks, compared to an HE shell? Would it be effective against tanks?
No.
>>28433537
No. Never effective against anything. You wouldn't be able to ever get enough napalm in it to do any damage
>>28433537
>>28433565
WP might be a better idea but it's still limited by volume, a larger rocket-propelled canister would work better.
Post guns or other weapons you purchased because "you seen a scary critter"
Pic related : "i saw a bear near my house"
>>28433384
You Stupid FUCK, unless you live near a large population of Grizzly Bears you don't need to shoot bear, ever. You most likely live in the lower United States, which means you probably saw a Black Bear. You realize you can scare away a black bear by yelling at it, or banging pans. At the most, you have to shoot in the air. If it does come down to a bear charging you, even this magnum wont help you.
>>28433496
you probably believe that moose are docile creatures as well and that if they attack you "you're provoking them"

I'm getting my first gun tomorrow, but I don't know if I should get one that's .35 ACP or 11.43mm.
