This program will exponentially increase the safety of firearms, for beginners and experts alike.
Smart guns are the logical step forward in weapons technology, proving that scientific achievement does have a place in the world of primitive *bullet in, bullet out* killing tools. It's important that guns retain their main function without even having the possibility of being used for the wrong reasons, or being subject to error, and this will soon be a reality.
Responsible gun owners should feel right at home with these new smart guns.

>suddenly attacked
>friend pulls CCW
>knocked out of hand by one of the attackers
> you go to pick it up
>pull trigger

>get your arsehole torn to shreds
How about all the Presidents bodyguards have to use these locks?
I mean, we wouldn't want tan attacker to use one of their guns against them!

> Responsible gun owners should feel right at home with these new smart guns.
See this phrase right here is how I can tell you're a shill
What do I get if i expect it to be even remotely reliable
>>28444767
Anything modern that takes a 40mm up to pick related
>>28444767
do you have the full NBC suit?
a mask is just going to protect you against eye and lung irritants by itself
no SWAT team is going to be able to gas you
the never agents and air born viruses that'll get released when the happening happens? not so much
>>28444880
No, but im trying to be prepared for likely happenings, most of which include airborne shit that i would like to not breath, nbc suit will come alongside it, just want to be sure that there isnt some ubermensch gas mask out there, or if pic related is fine
Behold, a suppressed 20mm

How do you even aim it....

Hey /k/ any tips for a first time sks buyer?
What has led you to consider an SKS? Not being accusatory or belittling, it's an important question.
>>28441937
Buy an AR instead, you cuck.
>>28441937
Don't try to turn it into an AK, for starters.
Ok I want a carry gun in .45. I was thinking about the glock 30 but it's a double stack and really wide. But this Para Elite Carry is a single stack and is obviously thinner. So what does /k/ think?
>>28441803
its not 1911s being thin guns is a lie
it might have been thin up untill the 90s but modern guns shit all over it in terms of thickness
>>28441827
Like what exactly?
My friends para is just as thin as my shield.
I'm just looking for people that might own a compact 1911 or a glock 30 that have experience with them.
>>28441957
you say its thin right? well the slide is but the grip isnt
if youve got standard grips the thickest point is roughly the same as the grips of a glock 17
its just that in your hands the grip is more oval than rectangular
Dear Sirs
I today would like to propose to you a new replacement for the typical infantry soldier's main arsenal
As we know, the rifle has been part of the infantryman's core weaponry for centuries now, yet it is my belief that it has become outdated and should be replaced by weaponry that:
A) requires less accuracy
B) has a greater killing range
C) has a greater moral shock
it is my belief that war is heading towards a "war of saturation" where, due to the sheer size and volatility of modern weaponry, the typical breakthrough will be proven impossible
Instead, war will be fought like an iron curtain, where armies will only go as fast as their counter measures, and victory will be based on the sheer amount of saturated fire a nation can bring to bear on his opponent
disintegration by saturation
As such, My aim is to introduce a weapon for infantryman that increases the saturated effect, namely, the grenade launcher.
The American Milkor MGL has an effective combat range of 400 metre, an effective harming range of up to 9 metres, and it's ammunitions can be used for riot control, concealment, and saturate fire. equally, due to it's parabola effect, and arc fire, it can be used to fire directly over the heads of advancing troops, and as mortar support, surrounding the enemy on all sides with damaging shrapnel fire. Not only this, but the psychological effects of concussive force on an infantry soldier has often been indicative of shellshock, so the sheer suppressive rate of the weapon should not only kill the enemy, but potentially paralyse it psychologically as well.
meanwhile, the infantry rifle for the British army, the SA 80, has an effective individual range of 300 metres, has an effective killing range of direct impact, and requires sections to flank to avoid friendly fire due to the bullets direct trajectory.
I would la 12 man section to be comprised of a fire team equipped fully with milkor MGL's, as fire support and with small rapid fire side...
>>28441710
...arm for close quarter combat.
Now I shall go over the issues with the grenade launcher
>ammo capacity and load
I would like to stress that with every early weapon innovation the first weapon has always been rudimental. it is my belief that that, like the maxim gun or aeroplane, the grenade launcher can be developed to become an assault launcher, with increased round capacity and reduced weight as development continues
I would also stress that with development the range of the grenade launchers would also be increased.
please now inform me of any issues surrounding my theory
For cqb use smaller charges. Also I wonder how much 000 buck you could cram into a 40mm shell? Or 40mm fletchets/ tungsten slugs.
>>28441710
>>28441734
Or I can slap an underslung grenade launcher on a M4 and have a combined loaded weight of half that of an empty Milkor. We're also planning on fielding the XM25 CDTE next year.
Gun control to be announced for WA state tomorrow. Anyone know what it could possibly be and how to fight it?
>>28442124
What? This is the first I've heard of this.
Just heard on npr I'm pissed the fuck off i can't have one day without these faggots fucking with my rights
>>28442124
What exactly did you hear about? I need muh freedoms
/k/ I'm looking to buy my 1st handgun (gun im general). I've fired my friends Taurus .357 and decided it's too much. I have my eye on a Canik 55 Stingray C, but I don't have many gun friends for advice.
What are your thoughts on the Canik 55 Stingray C?
>>28441639
Don't cheap out, there are plenty of amazing handguns that are literally 100 bucks more than that shit
>>28441639
Shoots OK. Some of the machined edges seem a bit sharp. Trigger no where near as good as my sig.
>>28441639
they're ok guns, between having dealt with the clone and a Cz. I'll get the Cz.
What happens if you run out of MREs/water while on deployment? Do you have to go out and buy or scavenge your own food/water?
>>28441586
You call in a resupply and the military ferries it in via chopper.
>>28441592
Is there a situation where either the military doesn't have enough food to send out, or the battallion officer doesn't like you and refuses the resupply request?
>>28441610
Nope, they have MREs stockpiled for deployment for years to come. Most are good for 5+ years when stored properly. The military just keeps them around for when they're needed, they won't run out.
If your battalion officer does that, they won't be a battalion officer for long. It's a simple matter of when you're going out on something that will keep you from base for long enough to warrant having meals with you, you just get them from supply before the mission's start.
tl;dr pic related the mosin of topic
>Bought a mosin from a guy's car
>Told me beforehand that he overheated the handguard piece, trying to pull cosmoline out with heat gun
>Fuck that, I can get that shit fixed no prob
>Go to /k/
>Guy tells me I can do this
"you can fix it easily OP, everyone else who posted is an idiot. just need to dissolve the varnish again. take a towel or rag soaked in some solvent like denature alcohol and wipe it around teh hand guard, dont use too much though. if alot of the varnish is missing, just get some shellac and put a little on. russian shellac is literally the easiest finish to maintain and redo, it takes like 1 second to revarnish and looks good as new"
Would rubbing alcohol work just as well as mineral spirits? If so, the most I can find at the store is 91%, should that be good enough to properly dissolve it and move it around?
>>28441579
If you can't find mineral spirits DON'T use rubbing alcohol. Use brake cleaner, it's easier on the wood
>>28441622
I can find mineral spirits easy, I just figured RA would be cheaper
So I'm not getting this to work, and flakes of the shellac are missing as well. Anyone know what brand/color/etc would be best for matching the classic Mosin Nagant color?
I have a couple questions about applying to federal positions, specifically DoD postings. Hopefully someone here has actually gone through the process, considering how much you guys love talking about operating.
I am seeing on usajobs that copies of college transcripts need to have the university logo on them. I am assuming this refers to them needing to be at least copies of official transcripts; is that correct? On the unofficial DPR page of my university account the <div> scheme is set up in such a way that the only possibility to get my DPR on the same page as the university logo would be a ghetto as fuck series of screenshots.
Second - I qualify for the position by education and experience. Does anyone know of any pros and cons of using either or both in the application?
Thanks, I'll be lurking.

you won't get the job.
Veterans get all government jobs. Those 200 ATF jobs Obama created are all going to under-qualified ex military neanderthals and jungle bunnies. Join the military before the government shuts down the best welfare program on earth.
>>28443204
I am a veteran, I'm getting my points.
Thanks for the shitpost bump though.
Yea, really, what is that space for?
Any ideas?
>>28441294
That would be a tank by the looks of it.
probably the engine.
fuck you shit video gams child
Can /k/ please help figure out why the muzzles are all taped up on theses AK's? Pulled this from the Syria info thread on /pol. Also, let's post up wartorn AK's. No civilian stuff, only AK's actually being used in combat.
OP dumping what I have.
>>28441238
because they're retarded and are trying to hide muzzle flash is my guess.
>>28441257
I thought that too, but the tape really isn't covering the muzzle, at least not on that slant brake.
I am a foreigner who will be staying in the US for a few weeks.
I come from a no gunz country but I'd like to shoot something while I am in the US. Is it possible for a foreigner to rent a gun in a range and use it?
>>28440992
Yes
>>28440992
yes
some ranges have guns you can rent
it shouldn't matter if you're a foreigner
>>28441003
>>28441018
Good! I'll do that.
Should I pay for a course? Or just rent a few things and a try em?
