Where to find a 20" Vepr 54r

You don't want a 20". The 16" barrel has identical performance. There's internet rumor that the 20" barrel is long enough to wobble before the bullet exits the muzzle, but I'm not 100% on this because they are thick fucking bull barrels to begin with.

I got a 16" vepr 54r. You don't want 54r unless you have cases and cases of surplus sitting around already. If you don't, go .308 or forget the idea completely. The ammo problem turned my rifle into a safe queen despite 1moa with surplus ammo at 100yd

well the vepr and and scope only cost 1100. PSLs are like 1500+ I used the money to go buy some span cans. But the only reason I bought the 20" was becuase I panic bought when I thought Obama sanctioned all Russian guns.

I don't see why anybody wants to use that stuff. I've used it in another 54r rifle and never want to buy more again. 150gr, surplus or not, does a lot better rock cracking and shoots flatter.

Yeah, in vepr form, I don't see as much point as there used to be when it comes to buying a 54r model any more. The cheap surplus is done, probably permanently.
I think the 54r mag angle looks cooler, but it's an objectively worse rifle than the 308 because of the way they chose to do mags too.
I could get behind vepr54rs if it wasn't for that mag decision. As it stands, I can't recommend them with a straight face.

It's limited to single stack mags, which means 5rds are the size of 10rd normal 54r mags. And the 10rd ones are really looooong.

I came close to buying a Vepr in 7.62X39 about 6 months ago but bought a Serb Zastava N-Pap instead. Saved 400 bucks and very happy.. Those Yugo/Serbians know how to make a good firearm just like the Ruskies. They would probably be even better if it was for the USA minimum parts law they have now.

comes with the basic psop unilluminated 4x scope, sun shader functions and rubber is in good condition. less than 200 rounds through it (i like it, but i want a durr rifle). 10 round magazine.

No. 54r performs nearly identically in either a 20 or 24 inch barrel. Any shorter and you start losing velocity at an increasing rate per inch.

OP here, and if I had unlimited funds, I'd build a 20" into an ersatz dragunov and a 16" into a gigantor AK, preferably with some gunsmithing to adapt an under-folder to it. If funds were truly unlimited, I'd go for gold or nickel plating, Saddam Hussein-style.
