For cleaner I use boretech carbon remover and copper remover, they are seperate products. For oiling I use slip2k or ballistol, greasing wth aeroshell 6.

I can accept that some of this is probably due to my inexperience, but how in the fuck does Ruger justify selling rifles that are falling apart and/or jammed internally? From what I've seen trying to google answers for the past half an hour or so this is completely par-the-course for the 10/22 as well.
Did I just get sold a particularly crap rifle or are these really supposed to be an American classic? I feel completely scammed.
I mean for fuck's sake who paints over goddamn screws in the first place?

For clarification's sake, I eventually got the bolt unstuck by removing the only pin that actually functions and jimmying it until it slid forward. Still can't get the bolt release crosspin in though, even with the latch properly re-seated and the bolt release itself in the correct position.

Ur being retarded. I was like that when I first got into guns. Watch a YouTube video or two. You need to be very careful and good with your hands. I will admit my 10/22 is harder than my AR, AK, Glock, or Mossberg 500 to disassemble and reassemble, but it's not that hard. Takes me maybe an hour and I've only done it a handful of times. If you want specific help you'll need pictures because a lot of what you're saying doesn't make particular sense.
Not sure if you're just saying it a different way or we have a slightly different gun. I have brand new 10/22 normal, not takedown.

I admit my mistake with the bolt getting locked open during disassembly, but everything else is a pure manufacturing or quality control issue on Ruger's part

Indoor ranges suck and i want somewhere to shoot guns outside, but the only outdoor range in my area has a $500 new member fee plus $300/year dues. im in west TN and there is public hunting land i could go to but i dont want to make a fool of myself, accidentally kill someone, or get fined/arrested. can you even use public hunting land to target shoot? im pretty sure theres no hunting season going on right now, but can i just roll up there and start plinking cans and shit?
