How much do you think a refurbished C96 is worth? I know refinishing generally ruins the collector's value of a historical firearm, but this one appears to be very tastefully done.
I'm wanting to trade some of my funs for it, but don't know exactly how much I should offer up.
Up for possible trades I've got:
-Swiss K31, excellent condition
-K98k Russian capture. Rough shape but still has a few Friendship Eagles and strong rifling
-1943 matching Mosin, sans bayonet
-M92 Zastava pistol, like new apart from handling wear
So what do you guys think? How much Should I offer up for a refurb C96?
Pic related is the exact gun in question. I'm thinking the K31, M92 and K98k?
>>33028868
>K31, M92 and K98k
You're trading $1500-worth of gun for a max $1000 piece.
>>33028868
Goddammit i knew id see this thing on here.
>>33028894
You think it's worth about $1000? Cool. I really had no idea what it's worth. Thanks for the heads up.
I got the K31/K98k about 5 years ago so when I think of their "value" in my head it's still the $250 a piece I paid for them. Are they really pushing around $500 a piece now?
Im 5,9, and 145lbs and I not sure if I should enlist /k/. I have a psych degree and was planning to go to dental school but I dont wanna regret not serving when im too old. What branch should I join and where would I be placed most likely?
Don't
I've never served but anything reserves is probably your best bet. I know a couple people should joined marines reserves and their life is minimally impacted from the service. Also national guard might be good choice for just partial service.

Don't the submarines want shorter guys?
When you first shot a gun how did it feel? And did you hit or miss?
When I first shot a gun it was a glock 17, I was nervous as hell because I was a skinny fag. My first shot I missed and my second I hit the target on the nose.
A little embarrassing to admit but I was like 19-20 when I fired my first gun. It was a ruger .22 pistol and I was shooting at old skunky beer bottles with my cousin; I hit it on my first shot
>>33028175
Mine was when i was 12 i think. I was in the boy scouts and it was just plinking .22s. I cant recall hitting anything, just that i kept putting rounds downrange
>>33028175
I was maybe 7 or 8 years old and I was shooting a .22 rifle my grandfather brought out that day to help me and my older brother learn how to shoot. Pretty sure I hit between the 8 or 9 ring with my first shot. Hesitation ruined my shooting the rest of the day
Is $800 a good price for a m1 garand? Seller says the receiver is ww2 era Springfield armory, but the rest of it is non matching serial numbers from a rebuild sometime after ww2. Says it was possibly a reimport, but it looks like it's in good condition.
I thought they ran out?
>>33027299
Just wait a couple months. Trump is gonna make the Korean Garands come over and they'll be under $200 a piece, maybe under $100.

Did the Jews not make anything cringe worthy? Favorite and Desert Eagle must be the two cringiest guns out there, and Uzi just looks fucking stupid
>>33026859
Tavor, not favorite
>>33026859
the fuck is wrong with the desert eagle. Yeah it's a meme but otherwise it's just a fun range toy. What exactly is 'cringeworthy' about a gun? Is OP a faggot? Find out on the next episode of shitty /k/ threads!
>>33028821
I agree, Seems like more or less the Jews make range toys rather than legitimate firearms kek
Hey guys I’m looking for some opinions and advice.
I’m looking to pick up my second 1911 .45 this sometime soon.
I have a full size government model and I want this one to be compact so I can carry it.
I want to stay under 1,000.00.
Ive looked around for a while watching reviews and looking at specs.
I like the Kimber Ultra Carry II and it can be gotten for well under budget.
I also like Sig’s Ultra Compact. MSRP is over a grand but it looks like it can be gotten for 900.00
I’d like to know what you guys think it the best compact 1911 .45 under a grand and why.
>>33026626
Sig > Kimber
>>33026633
This.
Also, most compact 1911's have a alloy lower as apposed to steel because it's assumed you are using it for carry. I hate that. Make that shit steel.
>>33026626
Compared to the kimber the sig has a stainless nitron coated slide, front checkering and night sites.
Everyone says the trigger on the sig is great but im still trying to find one in a shop to see for myself.
The counter-shilling begins.

Well, maybe Lockheed shouldn't have wasted government funds on a jet that has so many off-the-line issues. The F-35 is a wonderful design, but it just wasn't ready for the big time.
>>33026225
DRUMPF IS DESTROYING THE TOOL THAT AMERICA NEEDS
WE NEED THE F-35
More.
Is clip draw for retards or is it worth trying out?
>Clip that low on the full size
For retards.
>High clip
Probably OK if you practice with it. Just dont let it touch your skin all day, that would ruin the finish.
>>33026045
On a Glock? Full retard.
I'm going to go buy a striker fired handgun chambered in .40S&W over lunch today, and have had my eyes on the HK VP40. My budget is about 800 bucks.
Are there any other polymer/stainless striker fired handguns in that price range I should look at before I buy? And should I just cough up the extra hundred bucks for a HK USP in .40?
>.40 S&W
>buying a striker fired
>USP
Sounds like you don't know what you want OP.
>>33024961
>.40 S&W
>45acp
>striker fired
>13+1
>basically a glock
Why you h8n /k/?
What are your issues with this?
Inb4 crustacean.
>>33023081
.45 has no advantages over other calibers
Polymer frames feel like shit
Striker guns have garbage tier triggers.
Nothing about that gun interests me.
>>33023081
It some how manages to have a worse trigger than Glock and M&P, and it has a dumb 1911 grip safety without the benefit of the light single action trigger.
>it looks like hot garbage too
>>33023479
Stopping power. 9mm will stop a guy strung out on meth or PCP but it might take 20-30 minutes
The Indiana Jones Series
>MP-40's in the early 30's for Raiders
>Indiana Jones using an RPG-2 to threaten the bad guys
>P38 Walther has enough punch to kill three men with one round (dat 9mm)
>Norinco Type 56-1 as classic AK-47's
Gaze upon my horrifying visage and despair.
>not realizing that indy is so badass to defy the need for realistic firearms
>hiding inside a refrigerator protects you from the center of a nuclear blast
Are there any promising pistol mechanisms that could, with further development, beat out the Browning tilting barrel design?
>Gas delayed like a Steyr GB is too dirty
>Locking block is needlessly complex and weaker
>Rotating barrel can't use suppressors and is weaker
But then there are roller delayed/locked, flapper delayed/locked, rotating bolt and other systems that haven't been tested too thoroughly.
not really.
browning action is very simple and reliable. especially in things like glocks and glock clones.
>>33031638
See, that's the only answer I wasn't looking for. Let's have some fun here.
>>33031625
Something to totally eliminate the recoil impulse would be the next step in evolution.
I got a package today /k/
shoulda written "a small package"
>>33025791
How tight is his ass?
>>33025791
Wuz in da box?
Good evening /k/ I just got this sucker in the mail today, and I can't wait to get my license to carry online quick and easy! I'll be laughing at all you suckers who sit through a class and shit.
I hope you CC a 45. Long Colt.
>>33030193
Nah bro, I'm looking at a Desert Eagle .50 Cal with the Tigger Stripes.
Seems simple enough, lets get this started.
do any of u do this? i'm going to get a ptrs and see if it is still accurate with the barrel sawed off.
>>33029863
I feel its a baity bait, but if you actually do it and post a pic i give it a REEE/10
>>33029863
It'd be shit, the barrel would be barely the length of the round. There would be barely any pressure build up.
>>33029863
that's not sawn off. the barrel is removed entirely - it's threaded into the receiver like any other barrel.
assuming you cut down a barrel to next to nothing, you remove any real acceleration that a bullet can get from high pressure gases as the pressure drops extremely fast. this is why detonating most cartridges outside of a chamber is little more than a firecracker.
some very large cartridges make very large firecrackers. that detonation may be enough to injure you, but nothing compared to actually firing from a reasonable barrel.
