Guys, I need some help. I'm making a story where the world has evolved to our modern age without guns dominating the battlefield in the early 1700's (I think?) and I am no real expert on the subject. This is just an aspect of my story, but a rather important one, as I do have a newfound passion for both guns and medieval weaponry, history as well. I'm not sure whether or not I should post this on /k/ or /his/, So I'm posting it on both. If you need to ask me any further questions, please do so. Let's have a smart discussion, alright?

You haven't asked a question.
Also, the English longbow, employed en masse, was the best weapon in the world until the repeating rifle.
>>33027255
Ah, sorry. The question is, what would modern weaponry be like without the invention of guns, however, that may have happened, and if with guns, what downsides would they need to be considered inferior to bows or be made so that close combat, in general, is more viable than ranged.
I'm playing with this idea for a while now- what is the cheapest and most reliable way to build my own military grade militia?
Before we talk about the human factor (Mainly training)
What equipment I will need for squad of 20 people? how many snipers, how many Grenade launcher, Vehicles, Communication devices, etc.
>>33027158
~400k based on us average 17.5k per soldier + extra for grenades
vehicles and more shit? another 100k, easy.
>>33027158
For the U.S.?
I'd say some basic bitch AR-15's and AR-10's for your DMR/"Sniper" role. Surplus Glocks/M9's/9mm Tokarevs if you even plan on giving people sidearms. You won't be getting grenade launchers or explosives, at least not military grade. Get some quality flashbangs/smokes from the civilian market.
As far as gear, some cheap Multicam fatigues and a hodgepodge of whatever MOLLE gear people want. Maybe plates if you have the cash. Helmets could be old PASGT's or even stalhelms or Volksarmee steel helmets. Cheap surplus boots.
I don't know dick really about radios but for vehicles I'd say some modified F250's or a couple old military diesels and CCV's, cash permitting.

Paint your faces black and buy them all AK's?
Do your targets promote racism /k/omrades?
Ranges are typically brightly lit, and the contrast of the back target and being pierced with a bullet hole makes it easier to see where you hit.
The silhoute targets i have are either green or orange, theyre easier to see at a distance. I dont really have anything against black people but what i dislike most is PC shit like this. Id shoot at MLK targets just to protest this bullshit
>Simple design
>Easy to see due to the contrasts
>Cheap to produce
Gee I wonder why they make targets black
>Complex designs for no reason
>Harder to see
>More expensive to produce/buy
Gee this sure seems like a successful business decision
no-funs scandifag here
Considering moving to the US
Thinking I want to move to Maine
What are the gun laws like there?
Thinking I want something like pic related
Any /k/omrades from Maine here?
>>33027052
Gun laws and culture of Maine (and New Hampshire and Vermont) will blow your damned mind considering where you are coming from (once you can legally buy) and their neighbors. Have fun and enjoy how life should be
Yankee cucks desu
unless you're really well educated and/or planning on marrying an american girl, how are you planning on getting here
Friend bought this 1940 Mosin with the stock already on. I can't help but feel a piece of history has been hurt. How do I convince him to swap it for a wooden stock?
>>33026578
Tell him it looks like a piece of shit and if he wanted a fucking plastic rifle he should have just bought a modern rifle that fires more common ammo.
>>33026578
you don't. He bought it with his own money.
now, there are plenty of all-original unhurt mosins out there.
I hav an all matching '32 Tula and a mismatch gun that I "sporterized" to hunt with.

So...why was this not covered in the west?
Because the USSR was gone, and wasnt there shit going down in Kosovo at the time that required our attention?

I ordered this funny looking flash suppressor from some nice guys over in Russia. I think it's called the Night-2. What do you guys think?
>>33026328
> What do you guys think?
Where did you buy it?
Do they have suppressors for 12 caliber?
>>33026328
rip doggo
>>33026328

Are these quick-load magazines a meme?

might be worth it to pin one and install it on your CommieState Compliant AR.

Which is more likely to win in a 1 v 1 fight to the death with no weapons?
(Basically which one is more suited to put down/apprehend a single person in a neutral environment)
a Military man or an FBI agent?
>Military man cant be as high as Navy Seals and similar branches
>FBI is your standard Field Operative
also, whats the main difference between their training?
>>33025839
>soldier
>Navy Seals
>similar branches
You're fucking retarded.
>>33026067
apologies for the confusion but I did say 'military man' or rather your average military dude, so basically a Soldier or a Jarhead but not up to Special Forces, Seals, and the likes
its kind of a stupid question, I know, but what would be the difference between your average soldier/marine vs your average FBI agent in terms of training and your ability to protect people.
I'm asking because I'm confused, once I pass my BAR, I'd have to choose from both, always wanted to serve but I also want to work as a suit.
>>33025839
Indertiminabl. As a former Infantry Marine I'd probably drop a cop. But who's to say he couldn't do the same.
Serious question. What caliber do I use to hunt Woolly Mammoths? They are coming back.
>pic unrelated

>>33025577
.577/450 Martini–Henry
>>33025577
.358 Winchester.
Woolly Mammoths Are smaller than African elephants.
>>33025577
Seeing how Mammoths live in arctic climates, a Lahti L-39. The skis make it well suited for arctic usage, plus it has plenty of stopping power with JHP ammo.
Let's see those gun family photos, /k/

Thread for underdog aircraft, whether they were obsolete or just poor preformers, they still kicked ass.
Curtiss P-36/ Hawk 75
This little beast claimed 1/3 of all German aircraft shot down during the Battle of France. It also claimed over 150 Soviet aircraft in Finnish service, acted as an attacker and escort in British colors in Burma and claimed a Zero during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Swordfish definitely deserves a mention for things like Taranto and the Bismarck.
>You mad cunts, you can't use a bi-plane in WW2
>Fuck your shit, here bomb
>>33024533
fuck you OP now I want to play IL-2 again
Let's not forget Gloster Gladiator. Especially not Hope, Faith and Glory in their defense of Malta against the Italian Airforce.
If I put a dry film lube of fluerocarbon on some of my parts the carbon from smokeless powder wont be able to stick to it right?
>it begins to deteriorate after the temperature of cookware reaches about 260 °C (500 °F), and decomposes above 350 °C (662 °F).
>>33024640
The barrel is the only part that will get that hot I'm thinking more like a FCG and internals.
I'm just worried about liquid base lubes going over it if it would fuck it up or just not adhere and having to switch to a grease based lube in addition to it.
>>33024680
Been done, but plated instead of dry film

/k/, what is your opinion on Golden gun?

Too gaudy for my liking.
Pretty nice desu
>>33024473
Personally - I despise it.
Objectively - it gives work to extremely skilled, talented, hard working craftsmen, so I'm ok with it.
I don't think we should hate it - it let's them put food on the table.
I'll always respect manual labor artists, be it tattoos or jewelry, even if I don't use it.
