Hyder, Alaska, population ~80 is at the border of British Columbia and has no roads connecting to other Alaska communities. The town's public utilities are provided by Canada, and is part of the British Columbian telephone area code rather than the Alaskan one.

Yes, and since we can't use captcha due to google getting banned, almost every Chinese flag you see here is a 4chan pass user. But when I was studying in uni I can freely post here, I guess some of the education networks allow students to use google to do some research stuff.

Going to raise an issue with the /flag/ community. Currently, about 2/3 of US counties have flags. However, a significant portion - primarily in the Midwest - do not. Pic related.

This raises several questions:

1. Do we want full, 100% US coverage?
2. If so, what should we have in absence of the county flags/seals/logos.
3. If not, should we leave the remaining counties out of the database?

I've thought of using the state seal as a flag for counties without a flag. While this might work for a state like SC (only 2 counties missing), it means states like Iowa would have 50 percent of their counties which look the same and in the case of a state like Oklahoma, it would mean the majority the counties would look similar. Blank white flags are NOT an option and have been ruled out in the past.

Ultimately, it's up to /flag/. Please discuss, I expect everybody to chip in on this conversation and I'll eventually decide based on what the community thinks.

I agree with the cutout ideas, predominately because the locales have existed for a long time and have yet to create a flag, why would they do so in the near feature? I think that we should create a standard in the community of creating cutout flags, and then perhaps giving them a border to distinguish from real flags? Or something along the lines of that.

Problem is whether to include them under their states or to include them as their own independent municipalities. Organization is very finnicky. I want to get past the US county issue before we move on to reservations, but it's one of primary issues which needs to be discussed.
