Why did you abandon me, West-xiansheng?
>>1460288
Because you're fucking cucks.
Google isn't being entirely helpful, so I thought I'd ask here: What types of arms and armor were historically used by soldiers in the Middle East? I'm particularly interested in armor.
>>1460287
Medieval?
Mail. But in the sun it gets very hot, so it's usually worn under clothing which is why they always look unarmoured.
Later they'd wear mail with plates linked into it. They never adopted full plate armour but this seems to have been something of a compromise to it.
>>1460287
Mail and quilted cloth, sometimes felt.
Also lamellar was used more often in Syria, Iraq and Egypt as more Turkic peoples migrated in.
Basically, it was very similar to Byzantine/Persian armors, since they often adopted and looted those styles.
So, mostly quilted armor (just fabrics, or was there any kind of hide?) and cloth with interwoven plates?
What about ring / chain mail? How about shields?

Could the Mongolians have conquered mainland Europe had the khans not continued to prematurely die?
>>1460275
Yes if they wanted it badly but they wouldn't.
>>1460275
Completely unknown. Same reason why we can not guarantee a reasonable speculation that if Flavius hadn't be murdered or Stilcho executed if it would've staved off the fall of the Western Roman Empire for several more decades or longer. Or if there had been no plague in Sassanid Persia, would they have had fought off the Caliphate and prevented the Islamic conquest of Persia.
We just don't know.
And more directly, the Mongols had difficulty once toppling the Turkic Khwazarmanian Empire after Ghengis passed away, so I doubt it, same with Egypt.
>>1460275
The Huns tried but they failed when the West was clearly diminished, during 13th century the West reached a Golden Age so this is very unlikely.
I've got another one for you /his/torians,
At what point did religion and morality become so intertwined? Also, are there any non-religious bases for morality?
>At what point did religion and morality become so intertwined?
Morality precedes religion by a very long time. Religion is just a codified form of morality
>Also, are there any non-religious bases for morality?
As far as I know you don't need any gods to use the Golden Rule
>>1460197
>Also, are there any non-religious bases for morality?
Greek & Chink Philosophies, famously.
With the access to new technology, new books and new thinkers, will the abrahamic religions die and will we embrace some more fitting religion/philosophy for a globalized society like neo-buddhism?
Pic unrelated
>>1460150
>neo-buddhism
Our technologically-interconnected society is far too hedonist to embrace anything remotely Buddhist. I'm guessing the next big thing is some cyber cult.
There is a demand for universalism, pluralism and freedom of dogma, polytheism is the answer.
>>1460150
I am thinking that in western countries ideology has overtaken religion.
I think transhumanism and progressionism in general have religious undertones.
Add to that scientism: a belief in the omnipotence of science.
How would Himmler deal with Radical Muslims?
>>1460125
Get his brainwashed goons to imprison and kill them by the thousands, being careful to avoid watching any actual executions because blood is icky and grosses him out.
He'd recruit them to Waffen SS

Congratulate them for their zeal in murdering Jews and decadent, weak ass democracies?

They're sure as shit are dangerous if you opponent doesn't also have a melee weapon.
It's like arching at someone close range when they have a dagger, if you miss your shot, you're likely dead.

What's the best intro to law (especially civil and contract rights) out there?
>>1460113
Civil or common law tradition? Also, I'm guessing by civil law you mean tort law. My best recommendation, short of going to law school, is to buy law school casebooks. Law is really about practice, not so much theory, and reading about the practice (cases, treatises, etc.) will reveal the theory and the history of various legal systems like contract or property much better than a history-style textbook.
Howdy /his/, this is my first post and I'm excited to stop lurking.
I've got what seems to be a simple question, but I'd like a more reliable answer to be able to participate in more conversations about it.
At what point does atheism turn into antitheism? I understand that atheism tends to not take any specific action against theism, as antitheism tends to do so.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer me!
Pic unrelated, just something I found that wasn't video game related.
>>1460110
>At what point does atheism turn into antitheism?
When you go beyond dictionary definitions, and you stop pretending you possess any ability concerning the measurement of other people's beliefs or lack thereof, and you simply look at what people do, then you will know.
>>1460110
>At what point does atheism turn into antitheism?
Not sure of any ideological details, but I'd say when you start to actively begin to denigrate or debate theists in the public sphere with the purpose of discrediting them. People like Richard Dawkins and Bill Nye strike me as anti-theists. Many atheists might see theism as a force for oppression or might just be a little too edgy and angry and their Christian parents and will trod the path to antitheism. Just an atheist here, myself. If it doesn't blatantly harm anybody (like fucking Islam in this day and age) I don't have a problem with it.

Has a Danish empire ever been possible anywhere in history?
Maybe at the time the Brits took their fleet?
>>1460026
Gross Canute had his North Sea Empire
>>1460026
They kind of had one in the middle ages what with Danelaw in Britain. Post Kalmar Union, there was really no hope for them to compete with the Swedes.

Does /his/ have information on tetractys for me; tetragrammaton; any specific writings of plato or others in regards to tetractys mathematical concepts.

Why should we help you practice your Kabbalah magic, filth? Go summon interdimensional reptilloids elsewhere.
I'm Nordic, and I believe this is a Nordic symbol, as all the Elder Futhark and similar runes can be found in this pattern.
Specifically speaking though, although the diagram is an 8 pointed star not a 6 pointed star, the viewer can see 6 points, each 6 points has 4 groups of 4 tetrahedron, 6×4=24, and there's 24 Elder Furhark runes.
Kabbalah isn't interesting. Besides. What better way to piss off the Overlords than to rename their sacred symbol as a nordic emblem they clearly stole and appropriated.
Hell if you look closely you will also see the Christian P cross. A nordic symbol.
