I want to talk about how badly could we treat people. What more can we do to make someones life more worse than it already is.
The first thing I thought about when someone told me about this "future of gold mining" was those people living on top of the mountains of waste, being pushed off for the profits of others.
It made me laugh, laugh at my complete lack of hope for the humanity, and human race.

When you have enough capital you invest it into something profitable like technologies and electronics, as the profit goes up your wages grow gradually and your workers become more skilled. In the end you have high-tech society like Japan.

I'd say that the basic human right is to not be the victim of violence unless there are extreme circumstances. That's not much, but it's important.
