Looking for historical names that make good pet names. I want a dog and was going to name it Cato, but a close friend beat me to it and that would be lame to copy them at this point.

Why did the Catalan language keep more Germanic words than its neighbours?
Even French tends to choose Latin words in occasions that Catalan "chooses" a Germanic word.
I don't expect you to know anything about my language, let alone about the history of Catalonia. But I might get a surprise, who knows.

I can provide relevant info and examples. But I don't know if anyone is interested.

Provide them, please.
They are cucks. Or alternatively, they are less cucked.
>A report was sent by the Soviet Ministry of Defense to Stalin on June 17, 1941 saying that sources along the border were warning that a German attack was expected any day and that the USSR should prepare.
>Stalin scribbled on the report in response: "‘You can send your ’source’ to fuck his mother. He is not a ’source’ but a disinformant."
What a goose!

What are some of history's most notable failed rebellions? Particularly, those where the leaders of said rebellions sold their own people out.
Any rebellion that happened in Ireland between 1170 and 1916 goes as follows:
1. High-born champion of Irish personhood and sovereignty who studied and argues English law gets popular
2. Champion makes a series of fantastic legal cases against English rule, often turning English bleeding hearts against their own leaders
3. Champion is caught fucking his daughter or someone else's wife by an English spy
4. Champion is offered English citizenship and an estate if they go back on everything they said and disbands the movement, and is threatened with making the affair/crime they committed known if they don't
5. Champion tells the rebels to go home

Jesus might have just been a magician, like the ones you see today,or a phycic person claiming to bring back the dead

Or Jesus may not have done most of the things attributed to him. These miracles were additions to the stories of his travels and sayings to add authenticity to his Messiah-hood.
Pretty simple really

If you can find them.
Can you build a very strong case for the plausibility of the existence of God on purely rational grounds?
>>1463841
You have to define God for us first.
Are you asking if the existence of an "entity" called God can be rationally proven?
Is that entity meant to be sentient?
The simple answer is, "Of course not".
God is faith.
God has no rational explanation.
If God is accepted as the Universe itself, with it's inherent laws, without sentience, then, well, we're working on it. We haven't figured it all out yet AND
we still won't for some time.
Among other things, we need to be able to determine the condition of the Universe (God) prior to Planck Time (5.4*10^-44 sec after the Big Bang when the Universe was 1.6*10^-35 meters in diameter). Planck Time is when Gravity became a separate force.
If we are looking for the answer to what (who - God) caused the Big Bang and if God created the laws of the Universe, the once again the answer becomes, "Of Course Not".
Colliding Branes and 10 (of 26) dimensional String Theory haven't quite worked out so far.
Blah blah blah.
Man created God.
if Augustine made such a glorious botch of it, what makes you think your can do better, Peasant?
A being that created the universe? Perhaps, but it'll be flimsy. The god(s) of any given religion? Almost certainly not.
Is he the greatest con man of all time? The biggest intelectual fraud in western canon since forever?
Only in certain aspects for sure. Don't know much bout psychoanalysis though.

Yes, right on par with Deleuze and Guattari.
Pic not related, it's the greatest French philosopher.
Look at the early 20th century.
Let's pose a syllogism with European Fascism a decade ago.
Fascism rose in the sidelines of society and muted ideas that were conducive towards it were among a considerable but were not predominating, declined slightly after WW1, then rose in full force. We're at the pre-WW1 phase, I believe.
Which country will it be, and what will they look at?

God I hope not.
A country run by /pol/ or /r/the_Donald is a nightmare of nightmares.
>>1463703
/pol/ isn't alt right
/r/the_donald is though
>>1463705
A lot of /pol/ overlaps with the alt-right and some identify with it, and lots are ideologically aligned with it although they haven't got the idea of it yet.
>>1463703
I doubt the posters/denizens of those channels will be the ruling class of whatever new society it may be. They are the theorists and the current followers are disenfranchised, insecure idiots the same way the first followers of all political ideologies generally are. However, if social and cultural tensions exacerbate in Europe and more young people turn 'right', I feel they'll turn towards the alt right instead of traditional conservatism, due to the fact the alt right is constituted by young proponents who spread to other young people while traditional conservatism is not very exportable to the young. i think a democratically elected alt right leader will slowly erode the rule of law like the same way Hitler did or to an extent, and the countries' otherwise apolitical or to an extent apolitical functional workers in industry, intelligence and military will just follow orders as per usual as the zeitgeist would also turn on them at some point earlier

I want to learn more about the topic title. Specifically its leadership, internal supporters, and especially its order of succession. I can not for the life of me find out who would have succeeded Mussolini as the Duce. My torrent of Mussolini: The Untold Story is taking its sweet old time.
I'm an alt-his writer who spends a very large amount of time learning the real history. Both because I enjoy it, consider the preservation of history to be imperative, and because I like my stories not sounding like 12 year old fanfiction or blue pill rhetoric.
Thanks in advance for any pointers where to look or information provided.

You should watch documentaries about Fascist Italy before the 21th century when it all went. "MUSSOLINI WAS INCOMPETENT ITALIAN ARMY SUCK MEME XDDDD"
Can someone explain this? How come documentaries about Fascist Italy made in the '20-'50 actually aknowledge and sometime endorsed Fascism, while also pointing out its flaws and Mussolini's shortcommings? What the fuck happened.
Anyway here are some intresting American films about Italy in the 30's

Another great documentary that tells about its leaders and its suppoters, but also how it came to power.

Mussolini did this fascism thing before it was cool.
People like Churchill were about as antisemitic and anticommunist as Hitler was and found his way to be the antidote.

COULD SOMEONE DIRECT ME TO ANY SOURCES REGARDING EATING CUSTOMS, SPECIFICALLY REGARDING THE PROCESS OF SITTING DOWN TO EAT, EITHER ALONE, OR IN COMPANY; ID EST: WHY DO MOST PERSONS TEND TO PREFER TO EAT IN COMPANY, WHILST FEW TEND TO PREFER TO EAT ALONE, AND WHAT ARE THE CAUSES FOR EACH PREFERENCE?
