>ywn be able to meet and talk with historical figures
If you could go back and meet somebody, who would it be?
>>2186691
What does "ywn" mean? Fucking acronyms.
>>2186697
You will now
I would probably meet Jesus Christ. Flirting with Christianity as of late despite so many logical objections I have, would love to see the man himself and have a conversation (I assume we will be able to speak any language we have to)
>>2186691
Walt Whitman for that comfy Antebellum America.
Tiberius to see whether or not the whole "tfw no republic" was just a sop story made up by later biographers.
Then either Pericles or Augustus to try and weasel out the real motivations for revolutionising the societies they lived in. their
Why has Germany always historically loved Islam?
The have the same goal - destruction of Europe.
It fits the Germanic militarism better than Christianity. The latter was never a warrior religion despite medieval Catholics doing their best to say otherwise.
>>2186619
I don't think Germany was any more militaristic than Britain or France in the 18th and 19th
>In a conversation with Hitler on 14 May 1943 Guderian pointed out the futility of the operation, asking: "My Führer, why do you want to attack in the East at all this year?" To which Hitler responded: "You are quite right. Whenever I think of this attack my stomach turns over." Guderian concluded, "In that case your reaction to the problem is the correct one. Leave it alone."
Why didn't Shitler listen to Guderian?
>>2186537
That guderian uniform looks comfy
>>2186537
The orders to attack were actually fake. They were forged by the chosen and delivered to the German army in secret. Hitler only learned of this after hear of the German army attack on Russia and by then it was too late to back out.

Wool+leather.
I would feel sleepy all day if i wore that.
It's the dumbest story that still somehow seems to be the mainstream belief. Did everyone's high school teacher tell them this story and they never thought to look it up themselves? As far as I know sandwich shops in weren't even an established thing in Sarajevo in 1914.
>>2186418

What is your favorite ancient civilization?
For me its the Olmecs, their art is just superior to cultures that followed.
>>2186413

More like old blacks
>>2186413
For me its the McChicken

There are so many ancient civilizations we know so little about, but were really advanced. wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuragic_civilization
Why do people claim that America won the war by themselves? I mean, the American Public wouldn't have accepted the casualties it would've required to have won the war themselves and, in all honesty, the American riflemen were, on average, fairly low-quality soldiers, never taking any risks and always hunkering down when an enemy was spotted. You might argue that this was good, because fewer people died, but their unwillingness to fight severely limited the pace of the campaign, even under the more inspiring leaders like Patton. There were many good soldiers in the American army, but because they went forward, they took most of the casualties and many elite units like the Airborne and Rangers suffered because they were the most reliable. Had the Russians not been willing to sacrifice millions of soldiers to weaken Germany, had the Americans not had the material resources necessary to fund multiple armies and had the British not been resisting the Germans since the start of the war, constantly draining their resources, then we wouldn't have won. It was a team effort and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
P.S. yes i did use teddy roosevelt and not franku, go ahead and yell at me for it
Because the government and the media has been shoving it down their throats since 1945.
Propaganda aside, it boils down to my dad can beat your dad. The general public doesn't know the nuances of the war. Frankly, they don't care. Most who are "interested" in it don't go beyond pop history.

No, the Germans never had a chance at winning. Worst case scenario the Americans just get annoyed and hurl nukes at German cities in 1945.
If you really believe this is what matters for winning wars, please surrender to your new Japanese Overlords.
None of the allies "really" won the war.
Anybody out here got any pics from Osprey books?
*Osprey thread*
I'll dump mine
I'll dump what I have
>you will never work for the CIA in the middle of the cold war

Were Assyrians the Germans of the Bronze Age?
>>2185978
explain
>>2185980
they were chimping out genocidal niggers
>>2185981
No, the Assyrians were cultured, so they were nothing like the Germans.
Is state sponsored morality as in the form of laws that prohibit drugs, prostitution, etc., good or bad?
Ideally, people shouldn't need laws to know what is good or bad, but at the same time, a sell governing people has its set of laws being their set of principles, and so they include the frowning upon immoral activities with laws.
For the purposes of this discussion, we will ignore the utilitarian aspect of a law (making something illegal means it will decrease).
>>2185909
It toes the line of a nanny state, but it can still be good. The question is this, are you enacting these laws to raise a strong and upstanding population? Or do you think your people are kids too irresponsible to handle themselves, so the state must act as a parent.
Drugs, drunkenness, excessive gambling, prostitution, gay marriage, all of these hurt the fabric of society, making for a weak nation and weak people. Making laws against them is perfectly reasonable. But if you go to far, you risk making your people weak and degenerate anyways. Your people become pansies and sissies, ever reliant on the benevolent government to fix their problems for them.
So here's the state of things. You need to keep degenerate and corrupting influences away from your people, while also raising a nation of people with grit and a decent amount of self-reliance.
>>2186556
Without mentioning homosexuality=paedophilia meme, name one way in which gay marriage hurts society
>>2185909
I love laith majeed
Why didn't God just make humans nicer and less inclined to be perverted/violent/jealous etc.? Don't give me that 'free will' bullshit either; I don't see why it's seen as impossible to have free will while also being so predisposed good that you almost never do bad things.
>>2185062
Fuck off, you've already made about 4 of these r/atheist threads. Just go back, or go to the religion section in yahoo answers or whatever it is fedoras do.
>>2185084
But I'm Catholic.
>>2185117
Well ok, I'm a bit triggered right now because of the influx of bullshit, and most of it is "god is fake bcuz muh omnipotence and free will"
What is the history of these guys?
Ithink they're just some irrelevant guards who copied the Napoleonic Old Guards hat in order to profit from some of their prestige

Would eastern europe and Finland even dislike russia if it wasn't for this mans actions:
>>2184816
Eastern Europe isn't a homogenous place, retard. Some EE countries like Russia, some hate Russia, some don't give a fuck either way.
>>2184816
Probably not, Georgians are the worst of humanity. White chimps, with a touch of Arab malice. The closest thing we have to orcs.
>>2184826
Wow, what an incredibly insightful and informative post.
>atheist
>idealistic
Does that make any sense? A friend of mine said he was one. I always thought every atheist is materialistic.
>>2184626
HITLER DID NOTHING WRONG
except losing the war

Your friend is a filthy heretic, the Gospel of Atheism clearly rejects any and all affiliations with the non-material.
