Why does iPhone constantly have better browser scores than Android? Aren't Android phones powerwise usually significantly better? Is it because Android is so unoptimized?

1. JavaScriptCore is faster than V8, most noticeably on 64bit ARM. They're much closer on x86-64.
2. Not even Kryo matches the A9 in single-thread performance.

A bit confused. How do I tell if a certain graphics card will be compatible with my motherboard? I have an Asrock PCI Express2.0 H61M-HVS. I would like to upgrade my Nvidia GTX660 to a 950 series Nvidia. But how do I know if it will fit into my motherboard? Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm just trying to get into how this stuff works.

GTX 950 is compatible with PCI Express 2.0

You should probably just hold on to your money and get RX 470 whenever they come out. They're supposed to be around a GTX 970 level of performance of $150ish
>>
>>55175403
Open the case, measure it and the check the 950's length; or simply go to the motherboard's specifications and look at the sizes.
Unless you have some weird motherboard, I cannot think of a single non-PCI GPU currently in the market, so that's not a problem. You need to make sure you have a powerful enough power supply and enough connectors.
Also, don't get a card right now, let alone a low-end 9XX series one, the new generation of cards is right around the corner. You'll get more performance cheaper and consuming less power.

The servers at my company use the company acronym 2 times for passwords to Internet accessible application servers. It's not Microsoft's fault that people who run Windows Server are fucking braindead.

Do you care about resolution beyond 1080? From what Ive seen on 4K I am not impressed. So I cant even imagine the LG 8K TV.

For now I think 1080 is fine and pay more for something you may or may not notice isnt justified.

>>
I care for DPI
1080p is fine on 24" screen, but for bigger screens you need 1440p or 4K or whatever name they will come up next

Also 144Hz > 4K

Of course. I'd rather have pixel density higher than my eyes can detect and this depends on the screen size in relation to the viewing distance as much as the resolution. 1920x1080 would be insufficient for everything else than some mobile screens in my experience. 4K is lovely for TVs and computer monitors but doesn't entirely hide the pixel grid in all cases. For VR 8K would be extremely cool.
>>
>>55175181
this
i'm using a 22 inches 1080p monitor, the quality is just fine

I dont' think a higher resolution will be ever beneficial at this diagonal

Post yout best bash trick.
Can be an unknown tip/command/shortcut, whatever useful and time-saving.

Avoid "muuuuh sl -> tchoo tchoo" (and it's not bash and it's useless)

Example : ctrl+alt+"." -> argument from last command. Press "." again for older commands

Also, ctrl+r will let you type through to previous commands. enter to execute.

That's not exactly a secret but I sure as hell didn't know it.

Does network traffic coming from the internet get routed to the computer based on the internal IP address or the mac address?
I would assume the internal IP address but if so, how come cloning someones mac address on your network can start causing shit to happen?
>>
>>55174998
Probably best to check connections then.
Otherwise start eliminating components. Or it could even be a restart from your temps being too high, but you probably would have mentioned that.

W10 download probably isn't doing it, but to be completely assured, you could look up which updates to delete and stuff.

Screen protectors are for clumsy autists. Maybe you should just cover your phone in bubble wrap and kevlar?
>>
>>55174848
you see, when youre carrying a 5.5 inch screen you'd PROBABLY want to protect it your investment from wear and tear from daily use. if that is just a thing a clumsy autist such as myself would do, at least a lot of people see it as common fucking sense
>>
There is no best, it depends on the phone. If you have something with an actually flat screen, get tempered glass.

Is there anything similar in structure to Codecademy to learn Java to its fullest? I would just use Codecademy itself but its Java lessons only go as far as the basic class - and as Java is in such high demand I reckon it to be one of the most important to learn as far as versatility, possibly turning it into something more than a hobby.

So tell me /g/uys, is there another interaction based program for learning Java, or will I just have to stick to YouTube? (If the latter, how long would it take to fully grasp with a mid-range attention span?)
