Got LG G3 looking to upgrade. Should I wait and save up for iPhone 7 or is there any good phones right now. Dont want another LG or even samsung or nexus. I saw Sony Xperia Z5 liked it but its little bit dated. Also not sure its gonna get android n. Recommendations?

Looking for a reason why i should choose a gaming laptop over a gaming pc apart from portability. Currently leaning towards a medion akoya p6659 and looking to overhaul some fallout new vegas with it, would this laptop run it with around 20-30 mods installed with 2-3 graphics mods?

How does one get into programming (for smartphones). I have no previous knowledge of any programming language except for some very basic visual basic bullshit when i was a lil kiddo who wanted to be a "pc guru"

Let's discuss shit we constantly hear being perpetuated in /g/ related circles but have never actually seen or heard evidence to suggest they're even true.

One off the top of my head:

Electrostatic discharges frying modern electronics. People say you should be extremely careful when handling your guts as to not discharge static into them, which is fine and understandable. But when it comes to cleaning guts, using brushes and vacuums near your components makes everyone lose their shit and all they say is "static, man". I did a little research and the most I could find was some guy on some forum talking about the spooky evils of cumulative damage. Yet I could also find quite a few more anecdotes of people having used vacuums, brushes, etc, within their cases for decades without having something fry on them. Is there some sort of conspiracy going on, what is the actual truth here?

Perhaps older components were more susceptible to things like that, like with the myth with taking electronics through airport security x-rays? Anyone got any input?

I have recently aquired an SDR. I've always been interested in HAM radio.
The one I got has a "R820T" Tuner and uses the "RTL2382U" ADC.

I received strong signals from nearby FM radio stations and APRS-signals from amateur radio operators.

Now I've received this at 299.7487 MHz:

It seems like the audio track of a TV broadcast of CNN. Could it also be an audio only (i.e. radio) transmission?
It's strange thet this is the only signal on this band (300MHz)?

I am in Germany.


Could this be a DX signal (reflecting on the ionosphere or more likely the troposphere (for this freqency range))?

Hey /g/!
Just finished my studies and found out I'm useless.
I see the labour market is hungry for software developers. I can code in C/C++ but nobody would employ me with just these two. What to learn next? Preferably something that I can pick up within a few months.
I am unemployed so I can learn to code all day every day.
