Pic related is why I'm buying Nvidia this time, 2 weaker cards will rarely ever beat a single stronger card and the hassle isn't worth it.

Dumb AMDrones.

So I accidentally dropped my phone into water while in vacation. Luckily it was only two meters deep and my cover is bright metallic red so I could see it and dive for it. I've put it in rice and next to the heater to get most of the moiusture out, but it's still not wanting to boot. What do?

It was on when I dropped it, so a few hours after it was playing the first half-second of the start-up sound, but that later stopped. Now the red battery light blinks rather than glows when I try to charge it, and trying to turn it on makes it vibrate once, screen flash quickly and then nothing. My computer doesn't recognize it and can't access it.

Is there something I can do to maybe fix it? Or at least recover the data inside it?

>>
You already made the mistake of trying to boot it so soon. You shouldve had it in the rice for a week
>>
>>55169874

Prob already shorted. Sry bro.

If you want try putting it in water again to unconnnect the shorts.
>>
>>55169886
>>55169894
It kind tried to boot on it's own, unfortunately. I couldn't turn it off after I got it back in the boat, which I assumed was going to be a problem.

If it's shorted, what's my chances of recovering photos and stuff I've got in it? Is that something you could do at home (I know at least one guy who is tech savvy) or would I need professionals?

Is running a late 90's/early Y2K game on an older Windows on a Virtual Machine a good way to bypass them simply not working on modern machines?

Have you ever hired a Pajeet to code something? What would be the quality of the code? Would there be vulnerabilities everywhere? Do they even read reported exploits? Or do they code by "telling the machine what to do" and exactly that.

I'm sure he'll code better than you, anon.

A metric ton doesn't necessarily mean it has a high value, that depends on the material.

Is there any simple and reliable handheld device with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GSM that lets me messaging over most possible protocols and still lets me do anything like WinMobile did?
IPhones are not affordable, Android seems too glossy and unreliable, WP 8 was somewhat good but there aren't IRC and Jabber clients and W10M is a piece of shit.
Am I alone in this desire?

Android is good but you have to choose something with stock os (so not Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony) like a Motorola or Nexus. Chink phones are good: Xiaomi, OnePlus, Meizu. Also look at Saygus V2 its god tier but pretty old now.

Hey /g/!

Recently bought the GTX 1070 expecting it to live up to the hype.

It didn't. Coming from a 660ti, there really isn't much of a difference. I did some benchmarking against a friend's 980ti and his rig actually outperformed mine.

Not sure if the card is defective or if I'm bottlenecking here. The largest difference between our builds is the case... so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.

Should I apply for a job as a "systems analyst" if I've only ever done webdev stuff?

I'm trying to rewrite my resume for it and it feels like a lie man. But it's a government job and I'd really like to get it.

System analyst is basically rocket science

Webdev is telling people about rockets

Who's "using a big screen tv as my primary display" here?

I've been using a 43 inch 1080p tv positioned lower than my eye level(so I'm looking slightly down) for almost a year now and it's fucking awesome.

I don't know how anyone could use a regular monitor.
