Get a job at mcdonald and keep searching for jobs. It took me 1 year to land a programming gig after I got my 4 year CS degreeeee.

This shit drives me nuts. I don't understand why companies want to miss out on IT guys that can work for cheap for the few years they acquire experience.

Every CS job I see (in frontend for example):

- Must have CCNA, Red Hat Certified
- 4 years of experience in html5 even tho it came out 3 years ago. CSS3
- Experience +2 years on all of the meme frameworks javascript has
- Also some backend because why the hell not, PHP and .ASP
- Yeah some C# would be leet too
- AGILE AND MEME SCRUM +3 years experience even tho it's a concept you can grasp in a 2 hour lecture.

Makes me wonder if everyone is lying on their resumes

Hikvision is the most common cheap brand, mostly solid with workable bugs. The video quality is good and NVR interface decent enough. App quality just OK. You'll get like no warranty unless you buy from an authorized reseller or a company selling OEM with a warranty.

Be sure to weatherproof the RJ45 and mount the cameras correctly to avoid any water damage.

I'd avoid dome cameras because they're a pain in the ass outdoors. IR is super sensitive so things like dust, spider webs, etc will fuck the night vision up completely.

You'll want a 4mm lens probably, keep in mind the wider the angle the less detailed it is. So if you go 2.8 don't expect great clarity at distance.

Finally with motion detection it's all just pixel based, so don't expect anything to be able to determine a person vs a fly that goes in front of the camera. Think of it as a way to save hard drive space and nothing more.

I use it all the time at work to automate work through shitty fucking enterprise software that requires 20 clicks to do a single task.

At home I have no need for it.

I use it to easily great executibles for my friends who play games. Now I only need to add a keylogger
