I'm thinking of setting up a multi-GPU cluster for running CUDA code and I was thinking about how much the performance will be affected if the cards are too close to each other and blocks airflow.
Doesn't pic related affect airflow and then affect performance?
cant even run crysis on medium settings

Those 40mm fans in those server cases blow a shit ton of air and sound like jet engines because of that. They are usually enough to cool GPUs and such. Even nvidia's dual GPU tesla has a passive heatsink and some cutouts on the side so that the case fans can bloe directly to the heatsink.
using open air coolers packed that close together is asking for a housefire. get some passive coolers and make sure the case has good fans instead.
I am trying to upgrade Win7. The PC has an older Nvidia on-board chipset. I installed a new R5-220, it's working fine.
The Windows 10 upgrade tool scans the system and still think the old Nvidia chipset is the primary display and doesn't allow me to continue because it's not Win10 compatible.
How do I make this fucking tool recognize the new card as the proper display?

The Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.

thanks /b/tard
go into bios and disable the card... also uninstall the driver
Hi everyone. My team at work is creating a GoogleDrive account to store about 200-300gb of data. It mainly contains images and powerpoint presentations.
We're having issues setting up permissions properly. Our goal is to allow users to upload their files to a folder and not to be able to delete anything from within it. Is that possible?
>>55706512
wow, a rep from a company went to /g/ first of all places, for a service we consider botnet in a category we normally don't use, ie online storage
good job OP
Any help with that? We need a secure folder that is structured down to many levels, all accessible, yet undeletable for any user, except for the main owner. All users should be able to upload freely.
>>55706533
It won't be a massive undertake, and it's not like we're storing bank account info, it's only photos and powerpoint files. We need something lay users (members from our group and some older people not too computar-savvy) can easily access.
What's the best anti-virus program? Bonus points if they can stop this guy.

A Norton subscription will solve your problems, friend

"The Barracuda family has a rich history of delivering reliable drives at an affordable price point for our customers, who are struggling to keep up with the vast amounts of data they’re creating and consuming," said Merle McIntosh, SVP Sales and Marketing at Newegg. "Seagate is pushing the boundaries on capacity and a cost-effective 10TB option is a product our customers will appreciate."
it's seagate, they're back!
well sir, seagate never really left, they've always offered the same quality storage options at competitive prices.

Yes, if they were selling it for a cost-effective price - rather than more expensive than some suppliers will do the much, much better HGST UltraStar He10.
It is not the sweet spot.
For home use which involves hoarding large files and not really overwriting or updating them much, actually that is one of the things the SMR Archive drives would in fact be suitable for, and those are much, much more cost-effective.

Have computers and the internet revolutionized the world as much as the car did 100 years ago?
>>55705886
id say even more, internet has infected every faucet of life. Data travels at the speed of light now. It shrunk the world smaller then a car ever could.
Speaking at a physical level you could compare the two.
Automobiles greatly sped the transfer of aggregate energy between actors which allowed for larger structures than ever before. In this case the money would flow inversely as energy in the opposite direction. Really it was a simple and predictable change, yet effective.
The internet had no such direct on these hierarchies immediately. Instead it acted as an agitator to induce change via the spread of information. This spread in my opinion has the ability to facilitate much more change for a couple of reasons: first the amount of money required is not proportional to the amount of information retrieved. Someone at a free public library could access the same information (generally) as a billionaire. Second, this spread is faster because the information resources are available to all immediately upon creation.
One could argue that the Internet could not have occurred without the advent of the automobile but that is inconsequential.
Obviously this sort of analysis is too complicated to perfect for a 4chan post but I think I can plainly say that the Internet is more important at a higher level of abstraction while automobiles are much more important at a lower level of abstraction.
