So I'm experienced in programming, but when it comes to javascript there are a lot things that I don't know.
Post advanced js tips &tricks.

License all of your code under a freedoms-respecting license, or you'll starve all of your visitors.
Post some of your best books about computer viruses /g/ (we dont want any top ten shit that you googled, at least a book that you read ), any language is welcome, ASM, C even Py
ill start with the Giant Black Book of computer viruses
you may think its old but its some good shit ;)
practical malware analysis
Mien Kampf
and yes, you should actually read a lot of those top ten books people make lists of. not every computer book is the holy grail of knowledge but majority of those book lists have a solid suggestion.
also use a combo of:
book lists + libgen.io

how bad of an idea would it be to get this cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=232013330801 to learn/dick around with linux on and back up porn of nigresses squatting on white dick?
>>55734921
There is no reason to buy a server just to dick around Linux.
ZFS can run on a pentium 3. Just slap Linux on whatever x86 shitputer you have lying around and then start to dick around.
you can dick around with linux in a VM if you want instead of wasting the money on a dedicated machine. it could do so much more than just that
nobody gives a shit about your porn preferences, either.
would be overkill but fine for it desu
pedestal servers look nicer and are easier to find a place for though if you still want the enterprise® experience™
I'm looking to update my home server build and I can't decide on a CPU to build around. Its on 24/7 so power consumption is very important. I'm leaning toward the G3258 but wondering if there's anything viable and similar in performance that's more efficient.
This is just for personal use so I don't need to worry about using actual server parts, and I want to keep it pretty cheap. I also want a full desktop form factor for storage expandability.
Just get the cheapest (new) intel processor you can find.
Seriously. The G3258 is way too powerful for what you want.
What is it for? You could get away with a raspberry pi if you're just holding files.

I'm actually transcoding using plex to watch some media outside of my LAN. My upload is too shit to stream anything directly. I also run a bunch or other random stuff that doesnt tax the cpu much like deluge webui, a webserver, and stuff like that.
Let's say i know some basic programming, and want to learn the language of the future to make mad stacks of cash instead of ricing my distro so girls think im cooler, what you guys would recommend?
if this post has offended you, it should.
Radio thread
Just got my Baofeng UV-5R radio. Any other radio /g/uys out there?
What do you do on your radio? And what's up with the Russian "listening stations"? Saw some videos about a radio station named UVB-76 broadcasting on 4625 kHz.

I have one of those niggers
only things I can seem to pick up are NOAA weather robots and FM radio

I picked up some guys talking this morning just after i got it. Can't seem to find anything now though.

Go to radioreference.com and look up the amateur station repeaters in your area. Program them bitches in and start scanning.
Also, spend <$10 on a programming cable and setup CHIRP. Will make it much easier to program frequencies in the future.
If I started using something like Qubes OS on the same computer I've been using for months, using the same router, internet connection, IP, etc... Would I remain traceable?
Or would I be completely anonymous on the internet?
>>55734638
>completely anonymous on the internet
kek, nice one OP
>completely anonymous on the internet
Doesn't exists. You have to disconnect your ethernet cable for this effect.

What will replace keyboard+mouse?
You know when I think about it it's an amazing combination for productivity. It has been perfected over decades by lots of smart people. QWERTY was designed in 1873 for typewriters, if you can believe it. I don't think it will be easy to match, never mind beat.

Touchscreens and "smart" phones.
>>55734363
i rarely use my mouse because its such an annoying inefficient piece of shit.
i am married to my keyboard though, and i use vim+tmux+i3 everywhere and have a grown a very nice setup
last 3 years i developed a lot of android and i always have few devices conected via usb to test so does touch count?
i was interested in the vive until i got to test in in person. the headset a piece of shit the controls are fun though.
google is doing a vr/ar thing for android nougat that looks viable but has a much worse controller. if you could combine the vive controllers with android and do ar instead of vr thing it could become viable for consumers.
for developers a physical keyboard is gonna be most effective until a time comes where we can input our thoughts into the machines directly

Left is not nearly as small as you're probably thinking. It's actually kind of xbox hueg in person, and has an annoyingly fat footprint. Didn't vote because too lazy to do two capchas.

So I thought about using Gentoo on VPS.
Have you guys ever used Gentoo on servers?
I am a Linux/BSD veteran, used Gentoo on desktop, it was fine.
I want a basic ISPConfig setup, so email hosting (for personal use), LAMP stack, nothing fancy. Few Linux binaries, but nothing huge.
> inb4 install it and see
Hell yeah, I can just roll out an install, but a server is something you keep around for months, maybe years. So if it's a pain, I would rather just save myself the trouble.
>>55733990
Do you have some cheap 5-10$ VPS or a high end one? A cheap one should be more than enough, but might be slow on compiling Gentoo. I would go for CentOS or Debian. It's very quick and easy to set up a LEMP + mail stack on both.
>>55735828
this, tbqh desu fampai
don't waste hours compiling shit on Gentoo when you can just use Debian, arguably the most stable distro.
