Hey guys. I need access to an old google account of mine, but doing the recovery process hasn't worked. I have access to the original email that the account was signed up with. What should I do?
Send Larry Page an email from your new account
Ask the NSA what your password is.
>have multiple displays
>disable one or change the "size" bar
>entire UI frozen for a few seconds when you click the system toolbar or the desktop area
>about 30 seconds later the GUI crashes and reloads
>99% reproducible
is windows going to finally fix this shit with the 2.0 update in august?
its been happening pretty much since i installed it last year, and yes i've already manually installed the latest intel drivers from what windows had pulled automatically

Daily reminder that the Linux kernel can't recover from video/audio drivers. Daily reminder that this problem was fixed in all the other OSes in 2003. Daily reminder that the people in charge of the kernel development already said that they won't fix this problem because ISSUE_WILL_NOT_BE_FIXED. You should be grateful that Windows is great and reloads your GUI lad.
Email client or web interface?
I've seen a lot of people either using the web interface that comes with Gmail, Outlook, Sanriotown, etc, but others like to use Mac's mail client, Thunderbird, etc. Is there a real benefit in using a client nowadays? Just trying to check what others think if they've used both options before.
Client applications are good at staying responsive while moving large batches of messages around between folders, either manually or via filters. You can also avail yourself to loads of plug-ins/extensions for calendar integration, attachment management, etc.
If none of those things apply and/or your web interface of choice already includes the integrations you use--as many do nowadays--then the browser might suffice for you. It mostly does for me, though I am occasionally bothered by how slow it can be to load stuff and respond to actions.
I use thunderbird because I don't need a Web client. Works well when you have a desktop computer and a phone.
All mail servers are simple database. Data are transmitted by network protocols. When I'm using webmail, automatically webpage try to get other foolery as ads on webpage. I must configure a Firefox profile to use Outlook webmail.
Then Mail client is lightweight to use.

How does phishing protection built into browsers and email work? And how can one get around them?
>>55710939
Im pretty sure Gmail uses big data and neural networks to automatically determine whats phishing and whats not.
As for browsers its probably a simple blacklist or maybe heuristics
>>55710939
The best way around them is probably through SMS messages since they offer no protection, or emailing people who use those shitty ISP provided email addresses, since they literally have no protection from spam or phishing, or other shitty email providers.
These threads are very interesting . There was thread a week back with multiple links. Could anyone please post that information here if possible. Would be really grateful
What went wrong with HP?

Why are you asking if you posted the answer yourself?
I use an app called "Cell Spy Catcher" that logs all cell networks that my phone connects to in order to see if they are legit or if they are fake ones that might be used by criminals.
I found a network today with no operator name, no MCC+MNC name, GSM voice network type, unknown data network type, unknown cell ID technology type, and unknown CID & NID & SID.
Is anyone here knowledgeable about this topic? Was this network likely a fake one, which could be used to spy? I got this app out of curiosity, and I'm surprised that I came across something like this.

This is more than likely a test antenna.

I hope so. Thank you. I live in a somewhat rural area so I would not expect an IMSI catcher or the like around there.
