When will SSDs be dirt cheap and reliable?
I currently see a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB going for $80 but I'm not sure it's legit or the right time to switch

They already are.

How do I get out of the stupid fucking Oculus Home and Store bullshit and just fucking watch videos and Pornhub???
I've been fucking with this shit and Googling for like two hours!
How? How could it take you that fucking long?
VirtualDesktop for fuck sake.
>>55744975
Well, I appreciate your help, but I wish you hand't been so rude about it?
>>55744975
>>55745022
And how exactly do I get to the virtual desktop?
I finally switched over to Linux like everyone told me to. My clothes have never been more clean! Thanks, /g/! Also, laundry general
>tfw allergic to most laundry detergent
stopped using any years ago
I am 24 and have never done laundry.

Such is NEET life in mom's basement
I'm upgrading in the coming weeks and wanted to see yall's suggestions on my current setup. I want to do some low-key streaming for fun and don't want an issue.
I'm looking at about $2k for upgrade funds.
I know I should upgrade my 760, so I was thinking about a 1060 or 1070. But at the same time I'm not sure about wattage or anything else. I was also thinking of jumping up to an i7 from my i5. I just run simple fans for cooling, so with the upgrade is there anything I'd need to definitely pick up in addition to my old fans?
Besides those two I'm looking into an SSD, maybe another TB, and a new case. I have Corsair Vengeance C70 Military Green Mid currently and it is quite loud so I'm picking up a quieter mid. But I don't really need too much help with that, just providing the information for ya.
Your system will stream fine. I stream on my C2Q 2.83ghz with a 750TI and 8GB of Ram just fine. Shadowplay is kind of amazing.
>>55744842
Just get an SSD and you should be fine.
>>55744938
Really, just an SSD? I run games on medium-low currently so I was thinking if I stream and want to run on high I should jump up a notch.
>>55744885
I didn't even think about Shadowplay, I was going to use Xsplit
Such as KMSpico. Anyone with sandbox/network inspection skills seeing anything odd other than their re-activation calls? Anti-virus companies probably are paid by Microsoft to mark all piracy software as viruses.
>>55744799
But they are viruses!
>>55744799
>mark all piracy software as viruses
Dont use shit-tier-AVs
Use "ESET" anon
>>55744799
Technically my copy of OS X is pirated since I'm on a hackintosh. Last time I checked it wasn't botnet
Thinking about majoring in Cyber security or Computer science and most of the jobs require a security clearance and I can't pass it because I used to smoke a lot of weed and I did acid once.. Am I fucked or what?
Maybe you shouldn't have been a fucking degenerate
>>55744722
Yup, I know. Is there a lot of jobs in those majors that don't require security clearances?
Well, where I live, like almost a damn half of younger people smoke weed, do acid and other drugs. So unofficially nobody really cares here about you doing drugs if you don't show up high at work or talk about it with coworkers or something like that... That's just my observation though, don't know how other countries do it.
So /g/, What programs you use for your mixes?
The plugins that come with your DAW are usually good enough I think. I haven't gotten super hardcore into production but I can't imagine it making a huge difference in the end product as long as you know what you're doing (I don't)
I got really big into pirating all of this sort of stuff but really it's much less of a pain to go all free unless you have a virtual instrument you really want to use.
>>55744785
I mainly use serum. And sometimes zynaptiq. I like Zynaptiq plugins cause it brightens the mixes in audio parts. Like all in one plugin Unmix drums is my top favorite. Added by Unveil. You'll hear a huge difference. A bit cpu hoggy though if you dont have a higher horse power for that.
>>55744785
Mainly all native plugins have real time formats that minick analog emulation at the slightest and because of the price is expensive. Cpu reduction is the most challenging thing in the music industry if you're developing a software product for a strong code.
hello nerd shitlords
I currently have 6x2gb 8-8-8-24 dedotated wam
I want to upgrade to 6x8gb, but they are all like 11 or 10 CAS

I don't get out much, so I get really, really lonely. I've tried paltalk, but I want to know if there's anything better. Browser-based would be fine too.

How else do I curb my crippling loneliness?
>>55744494
By shitposting on /g/, of course.
I just bought a nano for 900p gayming. How retarded am I?
>AMD
pretty dumb
nano is trash because of the shitty cooler and throttling, it's fine for 1080p and 900p gaming.

tap your foot while you edit, cut on action, cut audio track slightly earlier than video ( j cuts)
>>55744295
multi monitor. definetely worth it.
Is this book current?
Has the field of "software engineering" matured?
Just make sure anything that uses dynamic dispatch is Liskov substitutable. This will save you from so much bullshit.
>>55744146
it's really painful to read, repeating the same common sense guidelines over and over again
>>55745434
I agree. I'm somewhere in chapter 2 and it still hasn't started. Lots of forward references, incohorent musings, it already drained my cognitive resources.
Hey guys, sorry for the "Homework help" thread. I'm learning Visual Basic. I'll delete this thread as soon as I'm answered. I have to incorporate a TryParse method into a beginner program. I'm not exactly sure how to do that, this is my shitty code.
If any of you can help, I'd very much appreciate it:
Dim intNumberA As Integer ' To hold value in box A.
Dim intNumberB As Integer ' To hold value in box B.
' Clear any previously displayed message.
lblmessage.Text = String.Empty
' Retain the values from the textboxes.
intNumberA = CDbl(TextBoxA.Text)
intNumberB = CDbl(TextBoxB.Text)
'Compare the values
If intNumberA > intNumberB Then
lblmessage.Text = "Value A is greatest!"
Else
If intNumberA < intNumberB Then
lblmessage.Text = "Value B is greatest!"
Else
If intNumberA = intNumberB Then
lblmessage.Text = "Both values are equal!"
End If
End If
End If
>>55744133
Replace CDbl with Double.TryParse?
>>55744133
>>55744195
Okay, here you go, faggot. I don't know if it actually compiles or not. I did in a notepad.Dim intNumberA As Integer ' To hold value in box A.
Dim intNumberB As Integer ' To hold value in box B.
' Clear any previously displayed message.
lblmessage.Text = String.Empty
' Retain the values from the textboxes.
Dim result As Boolean = Int32.TryParse(TextBoxA.Text, out intNumberA) && Int32.TryParse(TextBoxB.Text, out intNumberB)
'Compare the values
If (result) Then
If intNumberA > intNumberB Then
lblmessage.Text = "Value A is greatest!"
Else If intNumberA < intNumberB Then
lblmessage.Text = "Value B is greatest!"
Else If intNumberA = intNumberB Then
lblmessage.Text = "Both values are equal!"
End If
Else
lblmessage.Text = "Error!"
End if
>>55744254
Replace "&&" with "And" though.
