Are there any good books to really learn how linux works? Preferably e-books.
I don't mean just how to use the command line. I'd like to learn the ins and outs of how everything works on a basic level so i can have a better idea of what I'm doing rather than blindly copying and pasting commands in a terminal.
I've just started pic related but don't know if its exactly what I'm looking for

Don't be fooled by hardware reviews - its the software that makes this phone absolute garbage.
But if you are buying an Android phone, its not too bad a choice.
You wont be any more disappointed with it than any other devices that is Android powered.

Elementary is basically Ubuntu with another desktop environment, which is better than Unity IMHO.
It's subjective, try some distro in a VM or in the live environment and choose the one you like better.

The pic related workstation, the HP XW6600 Workstation, has the following
2 x Intel Quad Core L5420 2.5GHz CPU's ( 8 cores total)
32GB RAM
All for €260 in Yuropoorland, throw in a cheapo SSD and run Linux, is that a decent workstation for the money?

both are good choices right now I'm on Antergos with xfce which works perfectly fine. Switched to it after a bad distro-upgrade with Xubuntu. It's as easy to install and the AUR has everything you could need to install in your memepad.
