You know mpv is good because threads like this exist. A generation of 4chan users were promised that using madVR would make them cool forever. This allowed them to feel smugly superior about their choice of video player, their choice of operating system, and their use of proprietary software. These nerds have built their entire self worth on top of the fact that they use madVR.

Some people would argue that VLC was just as good, but how could that be the case when VLC doesn't even have a MemeRes2000 upscaler? If all else fails, just post gifs of decoding artifacts until those nasty VLC users go away.

Now these madVR users are learning about mpv, and it's threatening because it's one of those confusing Linuxy command-line programs and they've never quite figured out how to use those. They're not even really sure if mpv can do everything madVR can, so they just post features they hope mpv doesn't have, or post a madVR setup guide and hope that there's at least one thing on that page that mpv can't do.

Apparently Apple's new MacBook Pro release.

Last three versions have only been generic improvements with the last release (Early 2015) being only slightly better than the release three years ago (Late 2013).

Only technological improve would be the force touch trackpad if that is something actually considered important.

I imagine their new release will still have the design flaw of thermal throttling (inb4 shit thermal cooling system).

You're going to run it through the crawlspace? I'd use plenum cable for that, with a drop at each end. You don't really want to use it where you're going to see/interact with it, since it's stiff and ugly, but it will hold up better than standard cable.

For a quick job though, generic cat5 probably won't have any problems unless a racoon eats it

These are common problem factors for doing ethernet under the house which may cause a lot of problems for the future and installation.
Its easier and cheaper to do ethernet indoors than outdoors

If I had to use AMD, then yes, I would be.

But since I can also use Intel, and there's Kaby Lake coming soon, not really, no. Amd have proven repeatedly they can't do anything with similar power usage and low temps. Not excited at all. My i5-6600k will probably beat it too, seeing as i5-2500k defeats their best FX CPU.

I have abandoned hope for AMD CPUs and I think most other people have as well. Having low expectations is probably best off for AMD. If they make a CPU that competes with i3-low/mid range i5s for cheaper then they would to OK
