>The concept was first thought up by Iain M. Banks in his Culture novels. In these novels, a neural lace is a mesh-like device that would be implanted in a person directly through the bloodstream, controlling the release of certain neurons using the power of thought.
>Musk’s version of the neural lace doesn’t work exactly like that. Musk’s lace seems to be a mesh that would allow such AI to work symbiotically with the human brain. Signals will be picked up and transmitted wirelessly, but without any interference of natural neurological processes. Essentially, making it a digital brain upgrade. Imagine writing and sending texts just using your thoughts.

Did we ask for this?
Could this cause cancer?
>>56553506
Everything causes cancer and prevents it. Hang on, let me get a citation. Will the daily mail do?
>>56553487
This could be the first step to a true human interface device. I won't be an early adopter because that never goes well but it'll be awesome if this develops further.
>>56553506
Yes. You could hack someone's brain and make it release compounds that would trigger cancer.
>androshills will defend this

picture in picture is comfy. Siri is better than she's ever been, has literally not misheard me once, new storage management options are actually useful. No real complaints here, liking it quite a bit.

Which Linux Distro Is The Best?
>>56553032
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
Arch /thread
It's the same shit in different packages wrapped up for specific tastes. Use anything you like that is actively developed and updated. If you cannot comfortably set up your system in a distro-agnostic way, you need to git gud because unless you are happy with a *buntu distro, Linux won't be fun or productive.
Is it worth waiting for Kaby Lake? I have an AMD Phenom 1090t and I've had it for about 6 years.
No. It's Skylake + 200 Mhz
>>56553254
Thanks, was pretty much what I was thinking now.
It would be a downgrade.
Your Phenom has 6 cores buy a Kaby Lake only has 4 cores.
Why aren't you post PC edition?
Because I actually do work

Excuses
>host a home server with Teamspeak for 15~ friends
>bought domain name for use on it because my IP is dynamic
>tell friends to change their bookmark to my domain
>a few friends who like to fuck with me still use IP address
>hatch plan
>set TTL to 10 on A and AAAA records
>wait 24 hours
>in middle of night when nobody is on, change router mac address and acquire new IP address
>change DNS record and set the TTL back to 14400
>next day
>a couple friends who didn't change the server bookmark to my domain now can't connect
>tell them to use domain
>they reluctantly do so after I refuse to give them IP directly (they're not smart enough to do an IP lookup of the domain)
>mfw everyone is now forced to use my domain
Okay?
cool blog

if you're going to buy a $1000 monitor going for a hex-core should also be on your list of things to do.
I want to purchase a RPi3 just for emulation, and maybe MediaCenter.
Question is, wich is the top generation of consoles it can handle? And I mean at an average fps.
>>56552844
you might want to check libreelec thread for rpi3, LE8 extended, escalade built kodi with bunch of built-in emulators.. i tried N64 only on rpi2 and it was working good, cant tell about others
>>56552844
the generation that you would have to go research yourself.
OP is a fucking lazy cunt
OP, RetroPie 4 is out now, so you can do N64, PS1 and Dreamcast
so, /g/ why aren't you using Visual Studio Community right now?
Because I'm using Visual Studio Professional.

How do you feel about the fact that the Chinese are surpassing American companies in emerging areas like AI and robotics?
