Anyone else feels empty inside when you code using a language that isn't C/ASM/C++ ?
Yes.
Everything feels like a meme unless I'm literally on the metal.

So why do I need Linux again? I can now do everything I previously needed Linux for natively in Windows, literally the best of both worlds.

Because virtually nothing works in Windows 10 Bash as of the most recent builds. Save the victory laps til it's out of beta.

Everything that I've needed has worked fine so far. git, gcc, etc. What isn't working?
People: Hey, Toyota, we counted that 89 people died from 2000 to 2010 because of your screwed up your electronics and software.
Toyota: Yes, but these are people to blame, they confuse the pedals.
People: Houston, we have a problem.
NASA: Wait a little, we'll sort it out. We'll need 10 months and 3 million dollars.
People: Here, take it.
Toyota: 3 million isn't enough, here's some more cash.
(10 months later)
NASA: Hey, Toyota, we found a couple of bugs in your code, namely 7134 MISRA standards violations, recursion, 740-string long function and 9000 global variables.
Toyota: We have our own standards. Have you guys, been to the Moon?
NASA (publicly): Toyota is not to blame.
(Toyota Shares went up by 4.6%)
People: What was that?
(3 years later)
Two American testers (whose grandfathers died at Pearl Harbor): No bugs you say? What if we find them?

Should I install mint or debian on my ultrabook?
I have an asus vivobook with specs:
128gb emmc storage
4gb ram
1.6ghz quad core intel cpu
1080p display
3.3 lbs
I have mint installed on my everyday desktop, and debian on my thinkpads. So far I've come to love all parties. Mint just werkz, but nothing wrong with Debian. Not sure which to choose.
How should I decide?
Install Gentoo
>>57126114

I'm learning Python and I'm trying to useif(time.strftime("%S", time.gmtime()) % 30)but it keeps on saying "TypeError: not all arguments converted during string formatting"
Is there a reason why? All of my code works separately, but the Python interpreter breaks entirely when I combine it into one if statement.

So I'm trying to build a digital sign to be hung on a restaurant. I'm trying to display a static image with text and full color pictures onto a 1080p screen, spread out across three of screens. Anyone know the cheapest and easiest method to do this? Set-up is fine but it needs to be as plug-and-play as possible.
My best idea so far is to buy three smart HDTVs and plug a USB stick on to each one containing the file I want to show. Then go into the screen's multimedia options and display the image file from there. I could even set it to slideshow mode to display other images along with the menu items. The problem with this is that every time you turn off the HDTV, it resets and when you turn it back on you have to go back into the options menu to select the images to show again.
>>57126068
Use Raspberry Pi zeros that boot into a minimal linux that just shows the image/whatever. Plug it into the HDMI port and boom, your done.
>>57126269
^This, and avoid buying smart TV if that's your only purpose.
>>57126068
damn, that menu sounds tasty.
Can't login to the Soulseek servers and all their websites are down. IS THIS THE END?

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3112663/software/microsoft-made-em-do-it-the-latest-kaby-lake-zen-chips-will-support-only-windows-10.html
>Microsoft is slamming the door on PC builders and upgraders who might have hoped to use the new Intel Kaby Lake or AMD Zen chips for Windows 7 or Windows 8 PCs. Sorry: Both chips are officially supported only by Microsoft’s Windows 10.
Why are the leaks featuring Windows 7's background Win10diots?
>>57125830
They aren't yet so no version of windows has official support yet. Doesn't matter what they use
You can install 7 on them, Microsoft just doesn't "officially" support it. Basically wordplay to trick gullible normies into installing 10 because they'll think they can't use 7.
>>57125830
>officially supported
Nobody said they won't work in Win7/8 at all.
They most likely will, but all the superduper special-features, which need kernel-level support apparently won't be supported.
