...I both love and hate the future. I miss the days of the old PC shops with some old grumpy dude in the back who knew your name and would talk shit with you whenever.
What the fuck is wrong with the world, /g/?
Still, buying four rpi3's, with heatsinks and a tp-link PCI wireless card at the same fucking store was pretty chill.
>>57128514
Ok sir. Is there anything I can help you with?
>>57128514
Oh hey that's my local Microcenter
It didn't used to be that way, I've noticed a lot more poo-in-loos recently than I used to. The book section used to be a lot larger too. Welcome to the modern age

HOW ABOUT THEM LAKERS, PAJEET!?
Any other freelancers here that make enough money to pay their bills? I'm about to give up and I'm starting to think all of the "successful profiles" on sites like Upwork/Elance and the likes are fake.
Finding work as a web development freelancer is virtually impossible. Everyone wants some Punjeet to do quality work at $2/hr. Sure, they're just going to slap Bootstrap on a site, load it up with WP plugins and call it a day but who cares right? They got it "done".
Craigslist is a literal joke. People are asking for $10-12 hour developers who also design websites that will also be their personal technical support for their clients. How the hell do people make it in this profession as a web developer? Upwork is a joke. People post jobs then never log in again. Elance lures people in with fake profiles of people making six figures a year hoping you'll buy some of their stupid credits.
If I had the money, I would move to where my friend lives where there's jobs a plenty for this field. He tried doing some side work freelancing and couldn't get a job to save his life if he had to. He's currently in a career field making 80k year as a programmer and has no idea what he's doing. He googles every project he's given.
TLDR - How the fuck do you get jobs as a freelance web developer?

>>57128434
you just dont.
>>57128434
>web developer
Bruh, your "skills" are a dime a dozen. Everyone and their mom can do webdev. The amount of places that actually need webdev and can't just use squarespace are pretty small, and they usually want an in-house team.
why isn't there a source distro based only on git/ current dev packages? seriously it seems like arch is so far from bleeding edge, it's a joke.
gentoo
gentoo, use (only) the -9999 version packages
first try arch with the testing repo enabled
>then quickly realize why that's not really a good idea

1. Get a github
2. Start a project or contribute to one
3. Get your name out there

You work from home, then you fail, run off to work in an office again, and start spreading FUD about being isolated, not being motivated, distractions etc. While the real reason for your failure is that you are not motivated enough.
You have to understand that all you do, you do for yourself. It's the same kind of work that you do on-site, but without annoying people around you. The concentration levels achievable at home are far beyond anything you can get at an office(fucking open plans)

By what process does software become a bloated mess of poorly performing complexity incarnate?
Moreover, is it a necessity which is inherent to the software development process? Are simplicity and functionality mutually exclusive?
Please don't link me to suckless or start talking about chaos theory. I want real answers.

Have you tried using a proxy?
So, would you trust strapping one of these phone Virtual Reality masks to your head?
How lucky was Samsung one of those Note 7's didn't blow up in someones face?
VERY lucky. Like the amount of charges they could file with that shit would make your head spin.
probably won't explode since it doesn't have to be as small as a phone. should have vents in the front that give the firestorm a place to go besides directly into your eyes
of course, that wouldn't be atheistic enough
Do want!

I mean there's no need to change it, after all it displays results in a clean minimalist fashion. But as other websites make it more """"mobile friendly""" I've always wondered why they don't "beautify" it like idk number it or increase the text or colour code it idk.
I don't know why people complain about 4chan's format when it really follows all the same styles as search engines in the early 2000s
