/g/, my dad is finally moving from DVD to Blu-ray.
Which player should I get?
Which do you own?
>>57122552
Blu-ray = botnet
>>57122601
It can't be more botnet than connecting to torrents
>>57122552
ps3 or ps4 whatever you prefer
Inherited a 2010 macbook pro from a friend, he said it didn't work and didn't want to fool with it. No install DVD. Corrupted HDD looks like. I've got a new SSD and want to do a clean install with OSX 10.6 and ride the upgrade train from there. PirateBay is down. Is there another avenue I can get the .dmg from to put on my USB?
>>57122533

What else?
Looking for a really good long-term sitting chair.
Is it still herman miller?
I'm about 6 feet 160 lbs.
Was looking at dxracer and the likes that streamers (which stream for 8 hours+) use and praise and also an Aeron.
But there's not much talk about herman miller in the tech/gaming community.

Just get the one in your picture and you'll be golden.

Thinking about it but its literally 1800 dollars
>>57123079
But it is nicknamed "The Panty Dropper"
Isn't that worth $1800?
>Of course it is
How many firewalls does /g/ recommend to protect yourself against professional hackers? I currently have 100 but I'm starting to think it might not be enough...
>>57122520
I have none because I'm using a VPN, so they can't never find me.
Same goes for antivirus. It's the VPN that gets all the nasty shit, not my computer.
So I suggest you get one. I have a PIA account. I recommend it, it's fast and since it's in the US, it's safer than others in other countries.
>>57122520
You need at least 70,000 firewalls to be moderately safe. One for every port, and several extras for every port up to 1024. Also consider lining your entire house with copper, and installing razor-wire topped fences around it.
>>57122611
Thank you for your recommendations, Special Agent Smith.
How did you guys learn programming?
I cant read books online, I don't know why, I just cant concentrate in it
You might be too stupid
>>57122502
I learned it by necessity. My parents ran an online business that I helped on. One day I wanted to be able to do something outside the scope of the basic admin interface, so I Googled up how to do it. It eventually led me to learning javascript and I was able to write something in a week. I worked my way from javascript to php. Then I decided to go to school and I went to college and learned c++, java, Python, SQL, etc.
I would say going to school and taking programming classes for a few semester will be the best way to learn. I felt like if I had taken them earlier I would have been a much more amazing programmer today.

yeah, i remember!
I do not ever remember a time when AMD was better

They still don't. A8 APUs provide the best bang for the buck and the x4 845 is still the best modern budget processor out there.
In addition to all this Zen is coming out soon.
Yes.
My 3000+ was such a great deal for the price.
I am slowly deleting my trace on the internet to the minimium possible, so I want to ask, is there anyway to know everywhere I am registred just by using my e-mail adress?
>>57122286
I don't know, you tell me.
>>57122360
good webm, but I was hoping anyone here could actually help
>>57122286
You are talking about backtracing. You can start by putting your own email into bing (not google because they sensor) but be careful as things might never be the same
Now that Fuchsia is going to be the new Android OS, what do we do with our newly obsolete Android devices?
>>57122269
>Fuchsia is going to be the new Android OS
hahaha, no
>>57122292
Well, if it makes Android OS obsolete, it's kinda the "new os" or whatever right?
>>57122269
>newly obsolete Android devices
What's obsolete is your use of the word "newly"
Every time there's a browser thread here, there's a bunch of your autists that start talking about Seamonkey.
Fucking why, man?
You can't even install proper plugins (no Privacy Badger? WTF?), and the UI is frozen in time from the late 90's. What is the point? Are you just doing this in the hopes that you'll fool some mildly tech-literate idiot into downloading a shitty browser because "muh botnet"?
>>57122142
It's not a meme. People ask for browser recommendations so people recommend the best browser.
>You can't even install proper plugins
Plugins in 2016? Come on now.
>no Privacy Badger? WTF?
But that's wrong.
>UI is frozen in time from the late 90's
No, the default UI looks like it's from the 90's. Are you seriously so retarded that you're incapable of using anything but the stock settings?
It's not wrong. Go to the privacy badger site, or simply try to install it from within Seamonkey.
>>57122300
It is wrong, dumbass. I just installed it in SeaMonkey.
lennart did nothing wrong

I've got FiOS with the G1100 router. I can't swap in my own router right now until I run Cat 6 in the house. I'm using a second router in my room to hook up my server/desktop/local network that I want linked via gigabit Ethernet. I tried setting it up as just a second router and statically routing traffic, but the FiOS router apparently does not grant full NAT access to subnets other than its own, so that means no Internet access. I also tried using the second router as a wireless bridge so everything would be on the same subnet, but again, the FiOS router has a documented issue with the WiFi multicasting that's necessary to keep a wireless bridge operational.
So, other than going out and upgrading all my network equipment, a double NAT seems to be my only option. The connection is stable, and I can forward whatever ports I need for the few services that have to be seen by both LANs. Is a double NAT really that awful for a home network?
Disable dhcp server on second router, plug into FiOS router, do router things
>>57122788
I would, except there's only two working coax outlets, one in the basement and one in my roommate's room. Hence why I'm trying to set up some kind of wireless bridge. I may just have to purchase another router or suck it up until I can run Cat 6. I'd love to have a proper patch panel in the basement and finally ditch coax.
