On my last installation of Ubuntu I encrypted the /home partition using Ubuntu's out of the box settings from the GUI installer. Now I'm reinstalling it. Is it desirable (or even possible) to encrypt the entire file system? Would that be just as easy for a newbie as encrypting /home? Would it adversely affect performance? Would it be harder to recover if the system breaks somehow? What are the pros/cons?
Friends. I need to connect my WordPress.com blog to the GNU Social network. I will do this through IFTTT.
So, I registered WordPress as an app on GNU Social, and received those informations:
>consumer key
>consumer secret
>request token URL
>access token URL
>authorize URL
This is OAuth? This... is... MADNESS! I don't know exactly how to format the request IFTTT will send. It must send the request to "update status" (post a new "tweet"/quip). Is this the right way to format the request?https://quitter.se/api/oauth/request_token/<consumer key>:<consumer secret>/statuses/update
Can we all agree that Windows system of separating hard drives, partitions, and disc drives by individual drive letters is superior to what Linux does?
Yaas queen edition.

Does Gentoo have any legitimacy to its utility/security compared to other distros? Or is it a complete meme with an unnecessarily hard installation?
>hard installation
heh

Install it and find out

I mean I understand the whole learning through experience thing and that's the best way to understand something, but there is also something to be said for the value of a teacher and student relationship, so if anybody would care to enlighten me, I'd be grateful.
Hey /g/, thoughts?

I upgraded from a moto g1 to a moto g4
I saw no reason to upgrade until they actually put a 1080p screen on it.
Not sure what my next upgrade will be. I don't think anything past 1080 makes a difference on a phone and processors are just a meme.
Maybe an that LG phone with the beefy audio chip so I can ditch my Fiio X3 and only carry one device around but that will be way down the line in maybe three years.

Need some advice on limiting the size of Windows on a SSD as much as possible.
I have the basics down: All of my programs/files/downloads are going onto a 2tb HDD. But how do I keep other folders from filling up? Folders such as the Windows folder or appdata? Is it possible to have these things on the HDD such that the only time my OS increases in space is when I update or something similar?
>>57132987
yes, you can relocate whatever onto another disk
I have no cs/it background.
There is a bunch of Big data and data analysis classes on coursera.
Will it make any sense to me or will i just stare at random info?
Be honest /g/. Is my major a meme?
>>57132915
probably, but what major would that be?

I had nexus before, worked perfectly.
I just bought P9 because of the storage and camera, so is there any way i could get pure stock android on it?
You're given a brand new Linux based OS unlike anything you've ever seen or used, it's certain to be a massive hit. You legally have to keep it open source (GPL).
How do you make money off of this?
>How do you make money off of this?+ 0 post omitted.
You don't, Linux users are cheap.
Turn it into an enterprise solution and have desktop/workstation deriviatives. Sell support for the enterprise solution.

Halt and Catch Fire is surprisingly good if you can get over the technobabble
Glad it got renewed for a final season
Is it normal yo be thrown into a project with 78k files and ~7 million lines of code with no documentation and be expected to work on it?
Because I'll be honest I'm fucking lost.
>>57132882
>no documentation
shit in the street pajeet strikes again
What kind of project, and what are the goals here. Do you have any team working on this eight now? If there's anyone else in the team it can be expected that you communicate with them to understand what you gotta do.
>>57132965
Like a hundred or so people are working on it. I'm planning on just asking, but this is a fucking mire.
I'll be honest at the moment I am trying to find where a page is being generated when I use the war. I can't fucking find it no matter how much I'm searching.
my wallet is ready.
This isn't real.
That keyboard is disgusting. I might like physical keyboards, but that one is garbage
>>57132974
Using it daily, I disagree. Comfy and the capacitive feature is 10/10.
Do you guys know any free proxy that I can use?

>>57132742
This, if no removable battery I am gonna be so mad that I am going to hoax the shit out of it and sue Samsung so they will loose another $18 billions. I will do whatever it takes to fake false galaxy s8 explosions so maybe next time they include a removable battery
