My computer is so good that on my computer P = NP.
Get on my level fags.

My computer is so good that i can set it to autofilter tripfags like you.
>>57127821
But can it post the proof for P = NP?

Will be there a comfier OS?

Windows 7
Never had a chance to use it, since it probably costs money.

Arch is the comfiest.
I need to buy a laptop for work. This will be my first laptop ever and I have no idea what to buy.

New to Android. Been trying out a lot of phones and thinking of getting a Galaxy S3 now since it's cheap and seems easily rootable. My question is: would I still be able to use modern apps on such an old device?
>>57127504
Yes but there are cheaper and better updated phones than a S3
>>57127536
That are easily rootable? Like which ones?
I've been struggling all day trying to root a Verizon Moto E, and Motorola won't let me unlock the bootloader.
>>57127504
the 1 gb of ram really is dreadful. normie apps such as sc and facebook work nice, dont expect any multitasking done efficiently though. also no pokemon go, unless you like it running slow-ish and crashing. the rom support and rootability of the i9300 is superb tho.
Need a laptop for work while I'm travelling. The only real requirement is a 1080p resolution on a 15" screen. Won't be gaming on it, don't need a powerful dedicated GPU. Don't care about battery life. It'll only be used maybe 50-60 days the next 2-3 years so it doesn't have to have a reputation for being ultra durable. Don't care about aesthetics. Lightness is a plus but it doesn't have to be super light or thin. If you can find a refurbished one cheap that'd great.
Budget, hard to say. For the last three years I've been using a ThinkPad W500 until the HDD failed. I got that one for 350e refurbished. I was pretty happy with it (could be lighter) so I'd feel weird paying much more than 300-400 now three years later. Open to suggestions in different price ranges though.
Give me some recommendations?

What do you think about a chromebook? https://www.amazon com Acer-Chromebook-CB5-571-C09S-15-6-Inch-Full/dp/B00T03KQ34
You need to add a dot and a slash
>>57127523
Not OP, but can you put loonix on these things? I've been looking for a cheap laptop with no need for storage meself and that looks appealing, except for the OS of course.
>>57127472
Why don't you just replace the HDD?

Due to recent audit on VeraCrypt and the AMA on le reddit discuss Veracrypt and other encryption software such as Truecrypt or bitlocker.
https://ostif.org/the-veracrypt-audit-results/
https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/57yfla/veracrypt_has_been_audited_here_are_the_results/
OSTIF says using the most recent version of VeraCrypt is safe if you see look into the workaround for the bigger issues that are currently in the code: VeraCrypt version 1.19 is the latest version.

>Use on bare metal only, no hosted virtual machines.
>Re-encrypt if you used GOST
>Re-encrypt FDE to fix bootloader problems
>No need to re-encrypt normal volumes (unless GOST)

I've been thinking of encryptioning a drive a second time, like encrypting the already encrypted drive.
I'd say that maybe this means people will stop bitching about VeraCrypt on /g/, but that obviously won't happen because /g/.
Thanks for the links, OP, I had been waiting for this to drop.
>>57127414
Your welcome, only one thing though, only the Windows part has been audited. The Mac(who cares) and the Linux part hasn't been audited.
VeraCrypt might not be the best choice on Linux just yet, but TrueCrypt certainly isn't a better choice.

what's that icon right next to BT (that oval-elipse icon)
>>57127238
A xiaomi I guess, well in my Mi5 it means it is using fastcharge
>>57127284
it's strange cause it doesn't vanish after I unplug the charger :D
and yeah, I'm talking about the icon in between bluetooth and no ringer.
So I refuse to return my note 7, because there simply is no phone that comes close to it.
100 phones out of 2.5million is too small a number for me to actually worry.
Anyone else here #standwithsamsung here?
>>57127202
You wont have updates, no root or xda support because no one is going to use the phone as it's dangerous
>>57127202
Note 7 always seemed too expensive for me to even consider -- I do have money to buy it, but it would just be a waste. I'm more than satisfied with my Nexus 5.
>>57126258
Isn't it basically the same as the S7 edge?
My bios shows these speed for memory clocking? Should i choose the last one, will it damage my pc?
only one way to find out
>>57127148
Naah, it'll be fine. You can pick the last one.
>>57127148
What's your RAM rated for?
Is this true?
Yes, software developers and computer """"scientists"""" are the worse kind of people after economists.
Oh wow, so you invented a sorting algoritm which runs in O (n^(99999/100000)), big fucking whoops.
>>57127142
Mostly yes.
>>57127169
A sorting algorithm which runs in close to O(n) time WOULD be impressive, and perhaps very useful in a number of fields...
Too bad it's literally impossible to design a comparison-based sorting algorithm that runs in a worst or average case better than Ω(n log n)
