>2016
>not booting directly into the kernel trough UEFI
Why aren't you booting directly into your kernel /g/?
>>57203548
Does booting my kernel directly through rEFInd count?
>>57203598
As long as you are actually using a UEFI stub kernel and not going trough rEFInd to boot into GRUB (which doesn't make sense why go trough 2 bootloaders?) then yes.
>kernel stops booting
>no recourse other than to unlock the UEFI firmware and change the boot device to a recovery CD / USB
It's like you enjoy inconveniencing yourself.
>2016
>still using keycaps
whats your excuse, /g/?

I'm not a masochistic retard.
Have you found any benefits to this?
What's a good software that will let me analyse sound, like an oscillator.
I'm looking for a software that will allow me to study a sound file it's pitch, waveform (oscillator), a harmony structure.
>>57203517
From a file or external source? I believe Audacity has some nice analysis tools for files, real time analysis will require one of the many free o'scope programs out there and an adapter for your sound card, which isn't terribly hard to make.
>>57203562
I want to learn audio synthesis and sound design.
looking up for a audio analysis tool that will let me copy paste or trace a sound from a youtube audio.
Looks like u want to copy some ones audio from youtube
I remember when people would take you seriously if you said you thought AMD cards were better. Nowadays people just laugh and call you a troll. You just cantshill AMD with any credibility no more (not that you ever could but now even cheapskates think AMD are shit)

functions aren't values in python?
Does this already exist?
- client+server architecture
server:
- back-end, handles actual playback
- handles playlist
- controlled via DBus/IPC
- written in C or something else that compiles to native code
- optional web interface
front-end:
- console control tool, launches the back-end on demand
- written in py3~$ mp pause
~$ mp play
~$ mp stop
~$ mp playlist.m3u
~$ mp --verbose somefile.mp3
ammp: started ammp-player PID 3928
~$ mp sounds/*.wav
~$ mp playlist

What was the purpose of making "another" minimalist music player?
Does it improve on where the others came short?
>>57203468
>What was the purpose of making "another" minimalist music player?
It's just a concept right now, that's why I'm asking if something equivalent with this architecture exists already.

Isn't cmus / mpd the same thing?
Sandisk, Toshiba, Samsung, Micron, Intel, SK Hynix
Who makes the best NAND, /g/? What should I buy an SSD with?
currently samshit
>>57203425
Ex HP field tech here, I would see more dead Intel and Samsung drives than anything else, despite micron being our primary source of SSDs. I'd rate Micron.
Lets do a little experiment.
http://www.speedtest.net/
Do Ookla's speed test first, the compare with
http://dallas4.testmy.net/SmarTest/down
post results.
>>57203391
16.6Mbps for speedtest.net
93.7Mbps for Ookla
>>57203391
speedtest.net > 200Mbps
Dallas thing > 600Kbps
Speedtest.net is correct for me, I get 200Mbps when I torrent too. I wonder what's up with dallas4 to give me such a drastic difference.
That test 22.4 ookla 21.02
Is it possible to reverse hash Algorithm back to original string?
Why is MD5 considered bad and SHA-1 good?
Also, very interesting link on steps needed to perform SHA-1
http://www.metamorphosite.com/one-way-hash-encryption-sha1-data-software
>>57203330
Both are reversible. MD5 is just easier.
>>57203356
As i understand, sha1 is only partly insecure, all other sha are secure. MD5 is trash

None of them are reversible, MD5 is just easy to brute force
This guy who has been trying to hire me as a developer, Martin Shkreli, allegedly is in NYC spreading herpes. WTF?
he looks like a raccoon desu
>>57203271
You're not hired to suck his dick, aren't you? Go for it, allegedly the guy is loaded.
>>57203334
BTW, he's gonna buy 4chin so you could become a mod if you ask nicely or suck his dick.
When will Firefox have multicore support? Firefox should not be lagging and freezing at 25% CPU utilization on a quad-core CPU. That's so last decade.
It already does, I use dev edition.
As soon as add-on devs get their shit together and make them compatible with e10s. Or you could just run vanilla firefox, but that sounds horrible.
Mine doesn't freeze or lag at all
Red pill me on pop3 vs imap, /gee/. I like imap's ability to sync in real time, but I also like pop3 actually downloading emails onto my computer by default instead of keeping them on a third party server. Which do you recommend?
>>57203150
>Which do you recommend?
We don't know, which best suits your usage case?
